I started playing league like the end of march 2016. I was completely new to mobas and competitive online gameplay. Never before had i ever seen such cruel and heartless people. I mean people just yell at you for stupid reasons beyond your control. I just don't understand what it is about league. How people sit there at their desks and flame you.
I think the mai reason is the shitty way they rank you. Its a team play based game but you aren't judged by your performance, so when someone on a team starts fucking up other players get upset because that player may end up impacting their own progression regardless of how well they themselves are doing.
Matchmaking is horrorendously random and doesn't match based on comparative skill, hence you will often end up withteamates lower then your skill level
There is no such thing as toxic players.
It's because there is reporting that's why there are players that say this.
Because most league players are socially stunted introverts who don't have the balls to say anything even close to what they say in game, in real life. That is good though, because saying to someone's face what they say in game may result have bad results.

The player who plays the game as intended as a competitive game and...
The player who don't care about playing the game as intended as a competitive game and don't give two shits about anyone but themselves.
Put them together and you get a toxic community.

Welcome to the logic of competitive games in general. People get hyped up with the combination of also being able to act however they want when they can pretty much hide how they really act (the gag in general for 'online actions such as the internet') and that same 'hype' drags them to throw moralities out just because they either constantly get kill streaks thru some exploitative measure and then get shut down by what they declare: 'the most noobiest player' in general.
Its the same logic as sports fan fanatics which foot'ball might be a good example where some fans get so into it they would paint themselves and show up shirtless to 'show their dedication and pride'. Just like pretty much any online competitive FPS, you get a bunch of people wanting to be awesome try'hard pros then rather concentrate on co'operative play, except they will gun for the latter if a strong incentive like a raid boss's rare gear gets thrown into the mix or they could get a big reward for 'playing good.', but that can also degrade them into wanting to be wreckless for those high mastery scores and rather get pissy if someone else 'claims' a kill even when they were saved from being shut down from a 10+ kill streak.
I will admit i've done 'playful' taunts and what not because of hilarious moments such as escaping a jungle gank alongside my laning opponent timing it like some clock'work group'd team, BUT i've had even more fun moments where even when i got ganked, i manage to outskill it by still killing my lane opponent and kill the jungle gank, usually sometimes thru help from a good jungle buddy or from mechanics giving me that upper edge.
At the same time i've also gotten angry because of the usual moments where one of your lanes will end up with situations where team members pick the most 'trollie' of champions in a completely bad role (Jungle Cassiopeia for one thing amongst my recents), keep being wreck'less on pushing lane, diving under enemy turrets to try and get that last hit on a enemy lane opponent only to get hit by a CC or slow they have in their kit or just plain pulling bad decisions such as believing they can defeat their opponent still after getting 1vs1 killed by them twice and they are already fed to the point where it's going to take your jungler to waste time doing many ganks against them to even 'attempt' to tilt the gold gap back in place if they even can catch the opponent and is fed enough to take down that over fed enemy laner 'just even once', much less if its 'multiple times.
Sadly just like plenty of ridiculous plot'line pushing villian speeches, its pretty much a common nature of 'people' to let themselves lose their cool and go into a 'retarded mentality' state in competitive type games, whether they are playing or they are 'cheering' their favorite team on. Having that happen on a repeated basis on both experiencing it or doing it yourself will just further drag you into the tempo of it.
