[5.13] Core AP Items Pass

Coming from someone who mains mages, this is a SERIOUS buff! Like ... do they realize how huge of a buff this is?

In my Heimer build, the core items usually go like this and the ap values they give before and after the change: item 3020 item 3157 120 100 item 3089 120 + 30% 35% item 3174 or item 3165 60 or 80, depending on enemy team comp item 3135 70 80 item 3151 50 to freaking 80!!! item 2139 40

So, if you do the math, the total of the current state would get you 460 - 480 before deathcap's passive and 598 - 624 after the deathcap's passive. When (if) this change goes through, that total will be changed to 480 - 500 before deathcap's passive ... and 648 - 675 after deathcap's passive. The total increase in gold this will cost is only 205g.

That's basically an increase of 50+ ap in value, and that's before masteries, runes, and champion specific passives are added in as well, for just 205g.

Isn't that a bit much? 205g for 50+ ap? Like, the only one that's gotten a nerf is Luden's Echo, which ... I've honestly never cared for.

They need to start to do overhauls on tank items and ad items, honestly before they do those I don't wanna brand as anything being op when those items if they get overhauled may just be a perfect balance, but for now yes those are some big changes, but also allow for players to look at more options in their build.

For any build that rushes zhonyas or ludens (or both!), it'll be a bit less of a powerspike. No one rushes void staff, and only a select few champs can rush liandrys. It's not a buff until you build deathcap, at which point it might still be slightly less AP until you pick up a third item, unless you're a mage that rushes morello. You can't just look at the lategame numbers for a midgame oriented role.

Now, if you can get the support to bind to you with the new zekes, that will give a massive AP boost. I think the new zekes has more potential to upset midgame mage balance than any of the "core" mage itemization changes.

My Teemo gains 50 on his build. o3o Nashor's gained 20 AP and Liandry's 30. :D Pleased as punch. My Heimer and Teemo will be happy, next patch. Yordle powaa~ Also, RoA reaches 100 AP now. o3o Which is what I build on most of my mages, to prevent instasquish or mana depletion. Seraph's jumped up by 20 AP. With the new maxed RoA (100 AP, 800 MP), Seraph's, base mana+75 mastery+whatever from levels gained in the time to max the two items already gets your AP to +250ish for 2 items.

Malzahar item 3027 item 3089 item 3116 item 3151item 3135 item 3020 item 2139 1st Dragon Buff +runes and masteries should get around 800 ap if i did the math right (36 from runes and masteries) In other words before mr you'll be taking 3400 + 17% max hp per second in his W (51% assuming 3 seconds) from a full rotation over 4 seconds, 2.5 of which you can't fight back during. That doesn't even include voidling damage or baron buff/5th dragon

I prefer Morellonomicon over the Roa here but this still a good build. I love Malzahar but it takes so long for him to get to his late game insane damage. It usually means that teams just typically end up feeding hard and the game is over before I can get there because now it becomes a 1v5 (me being the 1) and the enemy team realizes all they have to do is all jump on the only useful person left, the Malz.

ROA / Archangels anivia is going to be absolutely disgusting. she'll get 150 more mana from ROA (4.5 more AP) and 20 more AP from each item, then she will get 5% more AP from Deathcap. Liandrys might be good on her now too, since it gives real AP (she can proc the double damage very, very easily).
