Make Duos in Ranked be last in the pick order.

Seriously, if they aren't going to solo and instead play with a friend, they need to not be able to lock in a champion for their friend who's last pick.

If what you're saying the problem is something like: Pick order: 1: Solo 1 2: Duo 1 3: Solo 2 4: Solo 3 5: Duo 2

And Duo 1 wants to play support while Duo 2 wants to play mid, and Solo 2 or Solo 3 asks for mid and Duo 1 says he's going mid, subsequently picks a mid lane champion, then trades that champion to Duo 2 for his support champion - I see no problem with this. I mean, they're basically saying they prioritize their mid pick over their support pick, which is a decision they get to make. Either Solo player in between could then opt to pick Support and Duo 1 wouldn't get his preferred role. It's a sacrifice he's willing to make to ensure that Duo 2 gets his preferred role though.

The only problem I have with Duo's is the "duo bot with Duo 1" "duo bot with Duo 2" calls that they make. This is wrong and isn't even allowed technically as it IS draft order. Nonetheless it happens frequently. Especially when the duo queue are 4th and 5th picks it's aggravating. Like I main 3 roles (ADC is primary, mid and jungle are secondary mains) and if I'm third pick I should always get to play one of my preferred roles. If the first two picks go Mid/Jg and 4th and 5th are duo-queued and call for duo-bot, they're basically saying my preference means nothing (which is wrong). I'll take ADC in these cases anyways, as it's my right as the earlier pick. If however, I was 4th pick and they were 3rd and 5th, it wouldn't be unfair for 3rd to take ADC and force me in to choosing between top and support, regardless of whether he changes champions with 5th pick or not.

I'd say you'd have to allow duo-queues to specify who should get the earlier pick if you ever wanted to even consider implementing something to prevent them from being allowed to 'steal' a role from a teammate. Even then though... I still think it's a problem.

The other point though, is why duo-queues are even allowed in solo-queue in the first place. Fairly often, one of the two players is not as skilled as the other and it results in an all-around uneven game as matchmaking tries to balance two teams where two players on the same team should never be in a game together.
