I have recently taken up to mastering Orianna. I am currently 600 points off from achieving Mastery 5 (To give a level of familiarity----- Still new)

When I lane against a Zed, I get completely destroyed. Going to need some tips

Zed is just cancer rn so I end up banning him Go stop watch rune route as your secondary in inspiration. Grab exhaust or barrier and literally stay far away from him

Shield yourself and ult the second he appears out of death mark. Will generally dissuade them from following up on the rest of the ult timer. Go seekers armguard first item.

Grab the free stopwatch from runes and rush armguard, learn your ult timing so you can hit him with it just after he lands from ult.

You're going to want to start and max E for this lane and play passively. Unless you seriously misplay, a Zed can't 100-0 you if you stay close to full health. Just passively farm, shielding with E whenever he goes for a trade, and enjoy the outscale

If you think that lane is bad, just wait til you fight and Azir. The dude both bullies/zones you in lane and scales incredibly well into the lategame.

As someone who has 600K on Zed.

  • Always take EXHAUST & Flash

  • Rush this item 3191

  • You take stop watch from runes

The rest is skill match up but you've gotten a huge advantage if you've followed the things I mentioned. Orianna lane match ups are the hardest for me as Zed.

I can't speak for Orianna because I don't play her. For any other midlane mage your only real option is to avoid him like the plague. Play passive and out of range, the first time you get too close you're losing half of your health. Try to keep your cs as close to even as you are able. Slowing down the inevitable Zed push to breaking the mid tower is really the best you can do. If you don't feed him, you've "won" the lane, at least until Riot takes their head of their ass and fixes the champ. Stop thinking you have an even chance to get the kill, you don't. Make sure to ping the roam, talk to your team ahead of time and just agree to back off until later game. Pray your bot or top lane pushes first. Jg should camp one of those lanes to make it happen. Going against an experienced Zed in mid is pretty close to an auto-lose for the game if you have another lane going down.
