I like how Kassadin isn't allowed to have a decently long range damaging flash on his ultimate.

When Kalista can have one on her passive with no ramping mana cost and no cooldown whatsoever.

I hate Kassadin with a passion don't get me wrong (He singlehandedly ruined mid lane for a good one and a half seasons) but Jesus Riot at least pretend you're not biased towards ADCs.

I like how Annie can instant AOE instastun everyone and summon a giant fire bear, but Veigar can't do it in a thin circle.

I like how Kassadin can't flash very far with his ult, but Lee Sin can dash in and out and knock a person a million feet away in the process.

I'm sure we can have a huge thread like this.

I know for a fact we can but Kassadin is getting straight up kneecapped compared to Veigar.

Is he problematic? Yes but there's a far better way of dealing with him than gutting him.

This community confuses me greatly. There is no consensus on anything. They beg for things to be buffed (ie. Release Kalista) and nerfed (ie. Kassadin) then will say "Oh, said thing buffed/nerfed wasn't that bad/good." There is no consensus, no real control, just QQ without looking at the consequences of either side.

Any time there are changes to Kassadin there are some very passionate players that will offer very good alternatives or paths to look into but Riot will never consider anything. They are too focused on LCS balance to let a little thing like 99% of their player base have a say on things even if an idea might be just what is needed.

I doubt you'd find any Kassadin player that would say he isn't a monster when fed and late game but at the same time isn't that every other damn champion in the game? A fed ADC can kill you in 3 auto attacks. 3 AUTO ATTACKS. Yet a late game Kassadin is somehow worse? This and the constant tripe thrown out (Zed is a HEALTHY assassin...) along with the avoidance of another massively problematic champion (Lee Sin) just showed where the priority lies. Lee Sin has the flashy plays, the "WOW!" skills that look good. Kassadin blops about and does his thing but it isn't super exciting. Which one has been nerfed to oblivion and which one has a kit with massive damage and execute on a basic skill?

Ultimately I, and others, will play Kassadin regardless because we like the champion. Those that use and abuse him then get him gutted will move onto the next easy to abuse champion before we somehow end up with another Kassadin nerf.

But you aren't the entire playerbase, you yourself said it was the passionate Kassadin players. The ones who would far more likely and biasly nerf him, then overcompensate buff something else. And you they literally can't start accepting ideas from the community, because it goes from accepting one, to accepting them all, to creating a mess.

I know that I'm not the entire player base and I'm sure there would be some bias but there are some ideas out there that would allow a lot of changes without such drastic steps and Riot seem totally opposed to even looking at them. You'd be surprised at how many know just how to hit Kassadin without crippling him.

A few ideas I've suggested that would reduce power but encourage specific play styles.

Q - cast on enemy does damage, cast on self gives a magic shield. Shared cooldown for the same ability makes the player choose one or the other. W - half or even remove the mana returning if it means a damage boost E - I'd like the slow to be at least 1.5 seconds but I'm fine with it otherwise R - increase cooldown to something like 10 / 8 / 6 but give it a cooldown reduction based on hitting a champion

Are those overcompensating? I don't think so. It's changing at least two skills and forcing choices. Risk vs reward. Simple.

You don't think so, but what happens when said compensation buffs just leaves him in a different state of powerful and people continue to whine with how much options he gets over others?

Come on, this is Riot.

The company that thinks Sona is oppressive to deal with because she has homing blue power lines, but didn't remove them in her rework.

The company that let Eve sit in the depths of whatever is below hell because they didn't want to deal with her.

The company that let Karma remain a troll pick for the longest time.

The company that still hasn't really dealt with Lee Sin being too good at being a generalist.

The company the left Kassadin at, like, 95% pick/ban for almost a year.

The company... This ALSO could be a huge thread if we continued this.
