Goodbye ranked, Riot killed my buzz.

Thank you Riot for killing my Season 5 Ranked buzz.

Whoever put a monkey in charge of your seeding system should be fired.

Last season placement stats:

Wins: 3 Losses: 7 Verdict: Silver V Reaction: =D

This season placement stats:

Wins: 7 Losses: 3 Verdict: BRONZE IV?? Reaction: >=(

Honestly, what the hell is going on here? I did loads better during my Season 5 placements than I did for my Season 4. Heck, I'd even go so far as to say that I carried those matches. SO WHY DID I GET AN ENTIRE TIER LOWER AS A PLACEMENT?

I seriously hope this is some kind of bug in the system. Because if it's not, then goodbye ranked. Not even going to bother.

Where were you before this season started?

Ended season as Silver 5. Dropped to Bronze 1 a few days after. Stopped there.

So you were in Bronze I and are surprised that you are dropped 3 Divisions? They stated in the 2015 Season announcement that most people will place lower than they were before. You're not special. Nobody is getting wronged because everybody is getting the same treatment.

He dropped from Silver V to Bronze I. This actually means that his MMR was probably at least Bronze IV, if not lower.

do you know how hard it is to drop from sliver 5 to bronze 1? your mmr had to be b5. Basically you tanked last season and hard. Your lucky that you did not get b5.

the order in which you lose/win games is also important. You should win your first 5 games if you want better placement. The importance of placements (to your final placement) drops with each game from the 1st to 10th with the 1st being the most important and 10th the least.

But this isn't actually the case in your situation @Pungent Squid. In your case the reason is that last season you had a fresh account. Fresh account (with no ranked history) has better chances to be placed higher than a Bronze 1 account. Simple as that.

The whole point of a rank reset is that people are placed lower. What exactly did you expect would happen?

Actually if the soft reset work as the previous seasn, his MMR should have gotten closer to the average. The problem is that even after the reset it was probably really bad

Your final division is still based on MMR after your placement. To get demoted to bronze during the pre-season with you not doing other games to raise up your falling MMR, your MMR was probably really bad, and your 7-3 games weren't good enough to guarantee you more than bronze IV Also. as yet said by others, the win/loss order is important too

If you really should be higher, then get yourself back up. In season 4, it placed me in bronze 3 even though I was in silver 4 or 5 before that. I'd never even been in bronze. But then in a week or two I was already back in silver again. Tbh it doesn't really matter what tier you're currently in that much. Just play some games and you'll eventually be in what tier you should be in, or at least close to it.

you should be able to climb out so why care? :3

Ya. To be dropped from silver 5 to bronze 1 would require your MMR to be around bronze 3 for a few consecutive matches. This will explain your....unfortunate event during placement :)
