Randuin's Omen

so on your in game description it says

"-10% DAmage taken from Critical Strikes"

for the riot game description you guys made

but for wiki they wrote

"+10% Critical strike icon critical strike damage reduction"

soooooooo i can only play one champ at a time and i dont have any friends who actually know how to build or is even slightly interested in builds.... or the programming that goes into items so..... if anyone knows the real stats or if riot employees can clarify please

boosted comments will be ignored

thank you

Its a wiki. Change the description yourself if you don't like it.

well if riot says it is only for crit dmg i dont want to be the one to write something wrong.... i just wanted to confirm or deny if it is only dmg or not

there are runes for crit dmg and crit chance

just seeing if i can just stack in crit chance or not cause i hate seeing so many dif runes on my pages and i cant delete or sell the ones i dont use.....

It's as simple as going off of what you believe to be the current data. What does the wiki use to gather it's information? League, if the wiki is different it's wrong as simple as that. Just go off of the league descriptions, Omens is 10% dmg reduction from Crit only sources.

FYI you'd be better off if you don't use crit chance runes, attack speed runes/dmg runes would be way better. FYI 2, I have no clue why you're asking this, it's the exact same thing just worded differently. Most likely someone didn't want to look up the specifics of each and every word from league.

well tbh i was wondering if osmeone has enough friends to test out crit chance vs crit dmg but idk...i guess no one has those friends....lol kinda tilted over that but the best i can do is farm....^-^

The dmg difference is very, very minimal, but critical damage would be good because it's relevant throughout the game because you could always use it, crit chance only helps till 100% crit is achieved and I'm pretty sure it could only go up to 1% so have fun with that RNG

i thought it was a super strong item tbh since crit has barely any items and its worth more than dmg/ad items sometimes so i was just curious cause there really isnt any items/runes/masteries taht really fully counter crit like randuins omen does

It's mostly for that Idea it also really hard counters kiting champs (I.e. Most if not all adcs.)

i dont think there are any items to counter crit haha thats why i was curious which crit runes i should get cause jg and adc can both get crit items in their runes and esepcially for tanks vs adc or jg vs all other lanes it is nice to know which runes is worth

unless riot starts actually buffing both crit runes ^-^

Well if you're talking about rune builds I would stick with either the specific champion rune page or a generic AD/AP page, the general stats they give are better rather than crit chance, aslong as you have scaling runes ofcourse, but if not you'll still be fine. Other than that keep in mind that Crit can be countered by armor because it's still taken as a normal sum of dmg, just amplified. For example, say I was nautilus with 500 armor, if a full crit (not lethality) varus was to auto attack me, I would hardly take much damage in return because of how much that 500 armor reduces the dmg.

i didint think armor could counter crit haha i actually thought it would be health since i use to stack in armor and it would never counter crit....cause usually when they health drop my full armor builds they usually have a lot of crit...they might not have as much dmg until late game but def i usually always see crit builds in armor build health drops

i know when you full tank you cannot do dmg cause you used all your room on tanking so i fully understand that haha i been testing out the item vs masteries vs runes ratio to try and troll i can tell you items are worth more than masteries sometimes but the thing about items is you cannot stack full build items....that is one of the only caps on items haha besides that you have to fully stack in one thing for runes idk if it is a recent nerf or not but i have noticed if you try and get one thing of each on runes, it is easier to build for the items but you end up being too balanced and cannot do enough dmg... i think it works for tanking when you get one thing of each for runes but it def doesnt work for adc lol i think it works for top....and kinda jg depending on your team... i dont play mid so i dont really know if that would work for mid haha

Yeah some runes can be good overall, but become better when combined multiple times with its same rune, kept on testing and you'll find one eventually. About the armor, the reason why it may seem that armor does counter crit is strictly because of the fact that even if you get that reduced damage they'll still be able to deal enough damage overtime to make it look like it isn't working, if you want to still be tanky and be able to do damage go for champions with Bruiser builds. These champions deal damage while being able to take a lot in return, a few builds I know would be Shaco (meta), Skarner (offpick, but still good), Lee Sin (some builds put him in a semi bruiser type spot) and amumu (with a few hybrid builds)

i think the problem is riot hasnt exactly decided or announced what they want to choose as full tank since there is health and armor but at the same time if you look at how krepo plays, he usually doesnt do much dmg haha he just fully tanks with armor and health thats why i think sometimes ppl are sccripting since if you consider items/runes/masteries, the dmg they do isnt really making any sense.... but regarding omen, i think this item is like the only one of its kind so i was thinking it would be like warmog, where it is super op and barely has any items/runes/masteries in the game to counter it

Very good point and that is true, it's mostly because of the yet to come tank update/rework which they want to do so in the mean time stuff like what you're saying is happening. About omens as well, again overtime damage will most likely be what counters it, but say you went Omens into Frozen Heart they're practically screwed because of the high armor and reduced dmg aswell as the extra cc for your team if you're that "diver" type of tank. I feel any tank with a trinity or any top ad caster with bc and some other health/dmg hybrid item is beyond broken in lane. Been playing Renekton for a while here myself and his build is crazy overpowered, being able to deal tons of damage while having around 300 armor and about 3k hp...

i posted about lethality almost a year ago and i think they are still working on making it balanced so i completely understand how difficult it is for riot to make sure things are actualy working haha i fully understand thank you for such a wonderful discussion lol well tanks kinda have to be a bit broken since they literally have to run down lanes for their team so i didnt think it was bad for them to be a little bit broken lol i mean i think every lane needs to be a bit broken so it balances out the lanes but i think it is fun to discuss items in combination with other runes/masteries/items personallly i think it is wonderful how riot has created such a game wtih so many dif varieties of choices for each champ/lane

Exactly, I love the ever evolving builds each one different from another, makes it more fun when I buy new champions and see their playstyles.

I wouldn't take that wiki as too up to date. Their banner decor is still from the Jhin Release, which really shows how frequently they update their wiki.

there are crit chance runes and crit dmg runes and i was curious which one is stronger so i can just full stack one or the other haha thats why i was asking which one omen counters so i can buy the other one haha

Both. Your higher chance is for doing less consummate damage, and your damage runes are compensating for it.

Are you interested in full crit builds? If yes, then dmg. If no, then chance.

do you have any links to youtube videos that actually show these builds actually working?

Riot has confirmed before that any ability that uses the crit icon to show damage is regarded as a crit by the game. So anivia using her e after getting an opponent frosted with her q will deal reduced damage if you have a randiuns. There are a few champions that uses the crit icons to show especially potent abilities so be aware that randuins might be a good buy towards more than just adc.

tbh i thought crit chance would be stronger than crit dmg since chance would probably do more of a drog than dmg since crit dmg just sounds like ad...but i wasnt sure so i was seeing what other ppl thought about the items/runes
