Help. Stuck in gold 1 and trying to get to Platinum.

Hi, I'm currently in Gold 1 and struggling to reach platinum. I was able to reach platinum last season, but to be honest I think I got there by luck. This time I was at gold 5 and worked my way to gold 1 by playing carries and actually carrying. (Not all games though) However, it seems I've reach my limit at gold 1 where my win/lost streak is almost even. I want responses by true platinum players to give me advice to win more games at this elo to reach platinum.

Whenever you are dead, you are off the map. During this time, you aren't accumulating any noticeable amount of gold or experience and you aren't providing any pressure for your team. In many cases, missing out on a kill and surviving the altercation is more worthwhile than getting a kill but dying for it.

Also, your builds (and champions) are a little odd at times.

One example of this would be your Support Malphite game with Warmog's Armor and Luden's Echo; the enemy team had Jax, Caitlyn and Graves but you had neither Frozen Heart or Thornmail to hinder them.

Another example would be the Soraka Support with Rylai's Crystal Scepter (when her E is the only ability which applies it that doesn't already have a slow). There are many items which would have been more efficient (i.e. Ardent Censor)
