Yesterday me and my friend just finished our placment matches and we actualy won all of them ! And then the darkness creeps in...he gets put in gold 3 and I am stuffed in bronze 1 ... Now I played on one of my acounts thats realy realy old and i was probably realy realy realy bad 2-3 years ago but winning 10 games in a row and putting me in bronze 1 is overkill...yeah i can just carry myself out of it but me and my friend prefer to play togheter so atleast it could have put me in silver5 so we could keep playing togheter. And anyways where is the logic if we get players with such mmr that he gets to gold and I dont even get silver? somebody from riot I hope you read this and do somthing about this, because such things just ruin the OMG!!!! we won 10 games in row!!!!!! moment to WTF how the F am I in bronze after this series of wins. I have also written support but I doubt they care about one player since they have 1 bilion others and also my expiriences with LOL support were never great since most answers are automated but I still hope! So in the end winning 10 placment matches in a row isn't that great guys...

It's based on your prior rank/MMR from season 4. If you read the 2015 season article, it tells you that you no longer get a free ride way up the ladder for winning a measly 10 matches.

It also is directly affected by your rank last season. If he had a higher rank than you did last season he has much higher odds of getting higher rank. It was also stated preseason that you won't be able to place into a rank that is significantly higher than last season. I don't know what you two were ranked last season, but if you were something like B2 or 3 and he was somewhere around S1 or G5 it's logical that your placements would result how they did. Again, I don't know what your rank last season was or any information beyond what you have shared so my response might not be relevant at all. I do agree that placements screw you around, but that's the answer to your question.

"measly 10 matches"well they were hard earned wins and since my skill level doesn't corespond to that of 2 years ago (wich is probably the mmr with wich all got calculated with) it is kinda sad for me... I know that I am probably the only such case, but its realy taking a toll on my psyche if I get put so low and now have to deal with ragers, quiters and for my standards bad players. Yeah yeah ofcourse people are allowed to try ranked, they also are allowed to be worse as well as better than me, but it is frustrating to put up with it if I simpley should be putting up with other problems that arise in higher tier matches... In the end this is of no help to me, since I wont be learning any new things and hoen my skills and neither for any other player who wont be able to stand up to me because of the skill gap...and there is also the problem of riot saying I'm elo boosting since my skill is far greater then it was 2013.
