In ranked, sure. Be a meta sheep and obey the CC 0 gold ward bot narrative.
But in normals you shouldn't rage at players for having fun. That's part of the reason no one wants to support, because ADCs yell at you all the time.
It was picked specifically to counter zyra support because of the way lovetap works on her plants. It's really not good against most other conventional support picks. But people are sheep so ya.
As a support main, I mostly just enjoy the free wins that come from facing MF support.
Though on the rare occasion I don't get support (I always queue support secondary), I confess to unexplained blacks-outs and face bruising. More lately than usual.

I don't see what's so bad about it. After Worlds I tried it once; lancing phase was pretty good with maxing E first.
Once I had completed my Eye's of the Watcher I went for standard ADC items.
Worked out brilliantly as in the end we had one "real" and one "mini" ADC on our team.
Of course, I only picked MF because they had a Thresh. Wouldn't really have picked her if they had a really pokey support like Karma or Soraka.
I once played against Le Blanc support. Built 
first item 10/10.
I saw a Leblanc support, they didn't take flash because they have a W dash. Took exhaust and ignite, I lost that game.
There were a lot of f bombs in this post. But in all honesty, I totally understand your frustration. Without communication and the right synergy bot lane, it sucks. And even if you have those two things, there are still better, legitimate supports that you can use.
Nooooooo please encourage people to play them.
That way you can crush them in ranked games and then they can cry about it.
played a plat ranked with mf support... in ranked... plat... lets say it did not go well.
A big reason that people play mf support is because it was played in the pros, specifically at worlds. People then think that it translates to a good solo queue pick (mf support doesn't in my opinion) because you need massive communication and coordination, something hard to come by in solo queue. If you don't want teammates to play it, just ask them not to. It may not work, but it's worth a shot. Communication is key.
TL;DR if you hate it so much, you might have to ban it or just ask your support not to play it
I actually know someone with a 60% win rate on support MF, and higher gold on average despite having only 40~ CS per game, somehow.
