Darius basically autowins lane unless he's an ape.

Garen has to avoid feeding, then he can silence Darius in teamfights. Still pretty Darius-favored out of lane too though.

If in between, it's a skill match up.

i lost game i won lane i lost 1v1s late game his ult did about 1.6k true dmg while mine did 200 and his e did 1000 dmg while my q did 300-400 he was tankier also

Were you the Villain? If so, he probably wins because of his True damage.

Also, what were builds?

And you gotta stack 5 stacks before ulting, if you are having a hard time with his E damage, either try to kite it with your Q or go near minions so you don't take +33% damage.

His ult does hurt more, but if you go tankier your passive will win you the fight.

Darius should win. It can be a close matchup, and if you died to him, Garen will win the matchup beyond that.

The reason Darius wins is because his W cdr is quite low, and mainly his passive deals insane amounts of damage in extended fights. At max stacks, it's nearly just Garen spinning indefinitely.
