A Special Announcement To People Complaining About Yasuo

ßluę··4 votes·1,692 views

LISTEN TO THE GOD DAMN GUIDE! I feel like people only made the Yasuo hate threads because they want attention or want to jump on the band wagon. The fact of the matter is people don't know how to deal with him and are therefore frustrated because they make mistakes. Gnar was a prime example, "A CHAMPION THAT CAN BE TANKY AND HAS RANGE OMG RIOT PLS NERF!" but then people found out "Oh wait, let's bait the ult and then engage". Skip to 13:31 people and learn.

Yasuo heals off his crit, which his passive immensely helps. He is the only champion that can get 100% crit chance in two items. His winrate has gone up abotu 14% since season 5. Its not the players getting better. its the champ getting more broken. Theres a reason everyone is complaining, and theres a reason every yasuo carries. Its the champ, not the players.

It's really just knowing how to deal with him :D firstly I would like you to think about who really is complaining and why higher elo players don't really complain about champions that often- sorry if this comes across offensive but I need you to understand this. In fact, many players including myself hated Yasuo when warlord's bloodlust proc'd on minions. Why? Because it truly was an unfairly strong mastery that made Yasuo unfair. Youtuber Huzzy, a season 1 diamond player and content creator of team Dignitas- a pro team had commented that Yasuo is truly hard to get right because there really is a mechanical necessity that one needs to get right in order to play him well. In fact! He had strongly recommended not to play Yasuo for ranked because of this complexity with the champ. Sure, there can be that one game where you get lucky and snowball on Yasuo without even having proper knowledge of the champ- but that is mostly because of other people's mistakes more than the champ being broken. Plus I can bet you that you won't be consistent and that goes the same with every other mechanical champ. You need to practice to get it right. The fact of the matter is that it is hard to get Yasuo right and why shouldn't a champion that is hard be rewarded more than another less difficult champion? Players should be rewarded for making good plays. There is strong Yasuo players just like there are strong players on every champion but there are also many Yasuo players that just will utterly be terrible. Because Yasuo has alot of good but also has alot of room for making mistakes. You will get punished if you don't execute correct. Yasuo is one of those champions and is "a high risk high reward champ". Now back on the player base that constantly bashes him which is the average player of silvers and bronzes- again, please do not be offended but I need to make this point- I would not say that they know enough about the game to analyze a champion full enough to make the accusations that they are broken, because they probably don't know how to deal with them, and who could blame them? They are casual players that just want to play a fun game and therefore do not spend the effort to do research. Huzzy had also quoted "The people who talk about balance are silly, if anything, the only ones who know what they're talking about is Riot- the ones who actually put the research when making a balancing decision". Therefore if a champion is rightfully op they will nerf him. Yasuo is strong but I wouldn't say he's op. The number 1 reason people get frustrated at champions like (Riven, Leblanc, etc) is because the average person doesn't think about seemingly small but very important details. This logic applies to every match up you play against. Once again I hope this video helps :D.

I read the whole thing. then did a little research on you. You're a ranked yasuo main, and your only silver 3. Look in the forums, look on youtube, play any game with yasuo from an unbiased point of view. EVERYONE see's its a problem. EXCEPT for the people that are the problem. You think you are mechanically superior, every yasuo does. Just like every riven thought so too when she was broken. Im sure many fioras think the same thing. The champ is too broken. So dont let this offend you, but its not your "skill" its the broken mastery system fitted specifically for Yasuo crit build. Also, Riot is not good at "balancing Decisions" hence the reason we have Flavor of the month champions. Why some champions like yasuo, where a person without hands could carry a game, then we have people like gallio, that people forget even exists. yes small details exist that people dont pay attention to, but that is trumped by the braindead masses playing yasuo, regardless of skill, and carrying. Also, Dont get offended, but looking at your match history, you've lost the majority of your games, but seems youve won all the most recent Yasuo games in the pre season youve played.

theres a reason everyones complaining, and theres hundreds of upvotes on threads asking to nerf him. AND that yours is -2 (now -3) votes down.

Even if I wasn't a Yasuo main I would still think Yasuo's weaknesses are exploitable enough. IN FACT, it is because I'm a Yasuo main that I should have a better understanding of the champion, making the point more relevant. This is fact and I really try to be as unbiased as I can. I'm a silver 3 (because I am also one of the many casual players playing league, which is why I can relate to an average players point of view) but I'm smart enough to listen to people I think are better than me, hence I had used Huzzy which is a diamond season 1 player as well as other pro players. And does this "everyone" that you speak of include pros and strong players? Because if that's the case than you are most certainly wrong. Like I said the majority of the community like myself are silvers or below, but at least I have the decency to do the research and listen to people that are better than me. And the people that are better than me are higher listed players and riot (you know the people who actually built the game). If anything I think their opinion should matter more, you don't simply listen to a farmer on a physics test but the more experienced physics majors. Same thing applies here and if you think that listening to a person who doesn't do the research, understand the true values, is a valid argument than you are a fool. Period. Looking at my previous games, I presume you are talking about the recent weeks, I had been trying to pick up new champions- you can check the frequency I played the champions on (which I'm actually at a pretty good win ratio, despite the decrease due to my interest in champions that I try to learn in normal's XD cough my very poor vayne games. Is it wrong to learn champions in normals?) And besides it wouldn't even matter because this argument comes from better players. How can you say that riot is not good at balancing their champions when they actually build and understand the game more than almost every player including yourself? Your argument seems flawed :/ . ^^ not really offended though. I'm happy you did your research despite my recent decrease due to my new found interest in champions that I want to pick up in normals.

O-o you do realize that people still couldn't deal with gnar after they "found out" about baiting his ult right? He was nerfed multiple times and still a strong pick/ban because overpowered champion's kit will always allow them to maneuver around whatever "counterplay" the other team tries.

? This tactic was used multiple times and was hence why Gnar became a less popular pick in pro play as well as casual games. The reason he kept being a strong pick was because of his amazing cc ult. It wasn't because he was still op even after finding an exploitable weakness it was really because his strengths were strong enough to keep him used. His ult compliments many team comps nicely ^^ wouldn't you agree?

Gnar remained a top pick/ban despite any tactic that teams attempted to use against him until he was nerfed. No matter what teams tried, they simply could not beat him pre-nerf because his power level was too high to play around. He never "fell off" until he got multiple nerfs and even then, he was still a top pick/ban.

The thing you have to realize about mobas is that it is all about snowballing the smallest of advantages. Good players will know how to exploit overpowered champions to the point where they can only be beaten by another overpowered champion or get nerfed.

True, many mobas are about snowballing the smallest advantages and the good players are the ones who know how to exploit overpowered champions. Gnar had remained a go 2 pick but he wasn't NEARLY as popular as he was when people didn't know how to deal with him. The reason that Gnar had remained a top tier pick was (as I had stated before) because his ult was very compatible with many comps, that despite his weaknesses, his strengths were good enough to keep playing him. Now Riot had nerfed him because maybe his power level was too high and riot had thought it necessary to nerf him but you could see the fall off from him getting picked every time since the tactic was used. Which brings another interesting point :) Riot will nerf the champions that they presume to be too strong which means that if Yasuo is truly that strong- which I think he is strong but not op- they will nerf him eventually.

What are you talking about? Gnar remained a top pick/ban despite people "figuring out" how to play against him. His pick/ban rate kept going up until he was nerfed because his power advantage meant more than any amount of knowledge people gained about how to counter him. Implying that his popularity fell for any other reason than he got nerfed is just flato ut untrue.

Too strong and overpowered are synonymous in mobas. Mobas are built around snowballing small advantages and anything that makes a champion too strong will be abused by good players to make the champion overpowered.

I had watched the games after the tactic was used and his popularity did lower :/ . Trust me it is true.

Getting really tired of hearing idiots saying "just CC him" argument because frankly the list of champs who the "just CC him" argument applies to are as long as the list of champs he said "stomps when fed."

It's an idiotic argument of people who don't realize CC beats everyone no matter what their kit/design/strengths/weakness/fed/not fed/etc.

Also want to slap people who are like "run through jungle when facing Yasuo" because you know that jungle is TOTALLY devoid of monsters for him to dash through, I mean it's not like it's hard to pull those paths with his Q, he needs to charge it anyway, and then use their pathing to get an easy dash and close the gap with you. Really this isn't even close to being a legit argument, it's an excuse Yasuo mains love to throw out because they want to justify his BS.

Counter picking him also applies to everyone, even at the height of their strength some of the most broken champs in the game have been beatable with counter picks it doesn't change the fact they needed to be changed.

Lastly this guy literally tried to justify Yasuo being able to go 1/6 and then crush people by completing a 1-2 item power spike. No champion should get that kind of power spike off of 2 items.

In the end it comes down to this. How many times are we going to have to see Yauso 1v4 and get double kills before dieing, or out right escaping, on the pro scene. How many times are we going to see 1v5 Yasuo pentakills in solo queue in plat and above. How many times are we going to see a 0/8 Yasuo carry games because he hits his 1-2 item power spike and now everything else is irrelevant before people finally wake up and realize that when a champ needs the absurd amount of stats, mobility, and utility he has in his kit JUST TO BE VIABLE then that champions design is out right flawed and needs to be redone from the ground up?

When the argument is "just cc him" it is really saying that they are high priority targets. Like the video had stated when a Master Yi is on the enemy team, do you go for the Adc? And common sense says no as well as you need to kill the Master Yi first. "Just cc him" means that you have to focus him in teamfights- to not let him do his potentially severe damage. Yes CC applies to everyone no matter their kit but you don't use CC on the tanks, you use CC on high priority targets. Simply put, just because CC beats everyone doesn't mean you should use it on anyone, because you're giving up valuable skills on (maybe a tank) just because CC beats the tanks as well.

As for the jungle argument, many average Yasuos generally don't know how to move in the jungle and it doesn't change the fact that the jungle is not perfect for a chase (though he could probably dash through one wall if he uses wind-wall plus e for a fast chase , they're not perfectly in a straight line for Yasuo to dash to). I would have to do more research on this but if I'm giving you my best answer as of now it is this.

Counter picking apples to everyone, yes, but you should always be doing that to the enemy team, thinking about counter picking, assuming you can play the counters decently. It's not like Yasuo is the only guy to counter pick for.

As for the 1/6 thing, can you post the time on the video that it occurred so I can look more into it ?

I've never seen a 0/8 Yasuo carry or any champion for that matter. But when a champion that behind is able to crawl back up, I would say it is most often the enemy fault for "throwing" (assuming that they had the advantage), if the enemy team did not have the advantage it is more because of the Yasuo's team carrying him XD.

Martyrofsand1 votes

Hm who you CC tends to depend on who you are. If you are someone like Ahri/Vi/etc then yeah you want to use your CC on a squishy because you will be looking to blow them up more often than not. However if you are a Janna/Nami/etc then it's more likely you will be using your CC on whoever is attempting to come after your carry, which more often than not in team fights is either assassins, tanks or juggernauts. This also applies to you The Sword Dancer, and your thread that attempts to say CC isn't as strong against other champs. That is complete garbage, because this entire game revolves about CC either CCing a target to blow them up, or CCing a target to save your allies. CC is the only thing in this game that competes with mobility for strongest mechanic, and yes it does affect everyone just the same, with the notable exception of Irelia who is like the only person that can get to 70%ish tenacity.

Your jungle argument is one that effectively describes bad Yasuos. Good ones won't only pull minions to jump with they will Windwall to gain vision and then jump over walls with it, you can do this with Raptors, double golemns, and I believe gromp and both red and blue at specific points. In the end when you know the locations Yasuo's chasing in the jungle is just as strong if not stronger than chasing in the lane because of this type of thing.

I never said Yasuo was the only one you counter pick, I said that even the most broken champions of all time had match-ups they where bad against and could be beaten with. It doesn't suddenly change the fact that they where broken and needed the changes they got. Yasuo is broken by design he will either be oppressively strong, which he is now, or completely worthless, like he was a bit ago, with zero in between. No matter what state he is in though he will always be toxic to play against with a play style that leaves opponents not feeling "out played" but simply "out kitted." It's one thing when you see an Ashe dodge everyone skillshot thrown at her while dealing a ton of damage and kiting because she is a beast at orb walking, it's another thing when you see Yasuo dodge every skillshot because he has a zero CD dash that makes targeting next to impossible, or Windwall out right blocking it. One was great play by Ashe, the other is an abuse of a toxic mechanic that no champion should have access to.

16:22 you see the text pop up that openly admits that "with 2 items he hurts" and that even if he is 1/6 you still have to focus him regardless. Frankly no other champ that is that far behind requires focus, but then again no other champ is crammed so full of free stats to act as a crutch for them.

I've actually see it several times, including one of my own games in which myself as Maokai and my jungle Olaf camped the shit out of him so hard that at around 20 minutes he finally go this Statikk while I was sitting on RoA/Deadmans/Frozen Heart. Even with the gap he could still 1v1 me, ended up doing the most damage of he game that saw him get a pentakill. No champion falls that far behind and then comes back off of so little, except Yasuo.

I've said it several times but when you have to cram a champion design full of so many things including massive utility between 2 CCs, a wall that blocks all projectiles, unlimited mobility, free shields, give them CDR off of atk speed, AND double crit chance, it's time to accept that the design is out right flawed and should be abandoned, and that is exactly where Yasuo finds himself now.

I watched the "Yasuo Counterplay" part of the guide, and it seems to me it boiled down to these things:

-Counterpick him -Camp him -Focus him -Weak to hard CC (what carry champion isn't?) -Don't go near him in a creep wave (lol lane phase) -Move around a lot between auto attacks if you have to duel him to try to get him to miss a Q

In addition to generally not feeling too helpful, I don't think this at all vindicates Yasuo as a champion because: -The first (and arguably, according to the video, most effective) piece of advice is tantamount to gameplay that Riot admits is unhealthy and which they are trying to avoid -The second and third pieces of advice can be rewritten as "gang up on him because he's too strong for just one of us, even when he's behind" -The fourth speaks to an intended weakness of all carries, even those who aren't a problem the way Yasuo is -The fifth is completely laughable in lane phase -The last one is actually pretty decent and something I'm going to try to work on

Thanks for the PSA?
