Normal game matchmaking (IT SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT)
"It's just a normal who cares?" Is what you hear in normal games after someone flames a less skilled player. I'm sure that will always be the case and I'm sure that there will be comments like "Who Cares" or "Don't worry, it's fine" but to me the matchmaking of normal queue games is in an embarrassing state. For instance, today I played a match with my good buddy. We are both in gold and we got queued up with three others that were unranked. I think of a normal game as a way to improve on a champion or to try new stuff out, but when my team of lower ranked players is matched against top tier players that is a problem, but earlier we were against (and with) unranked people that were not very skilled. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. (Here you might type, you're tilted, get over it. COMPLETELY TRUE btw) Because the matchmaking is currently based on amount of games played not anything based on rank or skill-level. This leads to widely lopsided gameplay where one team gets an easy win and a fun time, but the other gets trounced which I find to be a leading cause to my personal issues with League in general. Sure there are issues with balanced champs (tanks), but another major issue in League is the skill differences which I think can be easily fixed if the matchmaking is generated based on a skill-level rating and not a games played rating. This will most likely lead to:
- Players getting better overall
- A better League experience for players in the bronze-Challenger range
- A way to draw in new players that have no clue what they're doing
