Is it just me or is Kalista just an overcomplicated mess at this point?
Base attack damage increased to 57.5 from 53.46 Attack damage growth increased to 3.5 from 3.25 Martial Poise (Passive) now notes her her auto attacks "Deal only 90% of her total attack damage."
I don't understand this. Her AA damage just on base stats is pretty much the same, it just means her autos don't scale as well with AD. Her abilities meanwhile get buffed in comparison with the base AD increases. I suppose it means she doesn't scale as well with AD items, but why was that specifically identified as a problem, if this is indeed the problem these changes are targeting? Isn't there a less convoluted way of doing this (ie. if her scaling is a problem, just nerfing AD/lvl, or if her ability scaling is poor, buffing her ability ratios. Not sure she would need a buff, though)? Am I missing something here?
EDIT: Since it apparently isn't clear to a lot of people, I'm not complaining about Kalista's balance one way or another, I'm complaining about how Riot is going about "balancing" her, namely the changes seem to be getting more and more elaborate, instead of just giving her a straightforward nerf and calling it a day. This person (more or less) says it better than me: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/3bqc8b/the_kalista_nerf_is_very_sloppy/
