Strange feeling recently

OK, first let me start off : I'm not a ranked player, an ARAM only player, and no, I'm not bitching about randomness yada yada

Alright, since a few weeks I don't really have time to play due to work, I roughly do 3 games every 2 day per evening. I've noticed that during these games, I either win all 3 with no effort (enemies being REALLY REALLY bad, that I wonder if they're even level 30), or lose all 3 because my team and myself can't do anything against a really strong enemy team.

I tried SR then, and the same result kept happening. Even checked MMR / Rank, during the "winning times", we always had a higher MMR / rank than the enemy team, and during the "losing time", our was always way lower than the enemy team.

This is really consistent, and I'm starting to understand why people say "games are a coin flip from champ select". I don't really appreciate the game anymore due to this, I don't feel "rewarded" for winning or "punished" for my mistakes, I'm simply feeling like "this should happen anyway".

Small bit of a rant, but I'm hoping that during s9, Riot gonna fix this kind of stuff, along with balance issues

A few weeks ago, I was winning almost all of my SR games with minimal effort. It didn't feel right but I was happy to win. And this week.. I only win 1 out of every 10 games. And the opponents are usually really really good.

I've gotten to the point where I don't really care about winning or losing anymore. Like you said, it's a coinflip and there isn't much I can do about it. All I care about now is just playing the champions I like. The matchmaking is extremely skewed and the game is too volatile/ snowbally.

I think this hasn't always been the case

Long losing streak and then long win streaks then enemy stomps then we stomp. Its basically forced 50% win rate even in normals it happens. Rigged coin flip

I've been struggling with players who give up 5 min into the game because of a 2 kill lead. It's obnoxious. That's the primary cause of most of my losses, people giving up long before the game is even close to over.

Riot's Matchmaking, "working as intended" since forever :D

No, they haven't improved it at all and they aren't gonna fix it, because probably there's something intentional about it.

How much higher are we talking here? Are teams getting 100s of points higher than opposing team, or is it 10s, or what?

Season 8 is the only bad ranking season, its caused skill to fly away and be replaced by comp-winning. Which means that the mmr for everyone is everywhere and people exist in higher ranks with half as much game knowledge.

which means many players in gold / plat siffer due to refining skill with a small champ pool and playing to be good, not to play what is is strong that month.

yep, every ranked game so one-sided
