(Debate) Are ADC's really in need of any work?

This is something a lot of my friends discuss, and while I will share my viewpoint I would like to hear some others as well.

In my experiences with the game I've always felt ADC is a role that has never been a bad one, even in the worst days with Vis and Rengars and the Cinderhulk meta, they have never TRULY been weak. They have always been the same, terrifying powerhouse of a role as always, just easier to stop from rolling into impossible damage numbers than others. I can't say I'm great at the game because by most standards I'm not, but having seen, played with, gotten beaten by, and having beat players from woo 5 to diamond 2 I can say that I've seen a lot of the game, and how ADCs fit into it.

The game is based around them, and a fed ADC on one team usually means they win because of how they work, when most games have ranged characters balanced by a heavy resource investment, inability to escape hard engage, or low damage to compensate, ADCs have not only have the highest potential damage in the game but also the most reliable damage. Regardless of skill, ADCs only need to right click you to hurt you...a lot. Current itemization only makes them stronger than ever as does their updates. My argument is that with the new items you could probably completely undo the work put in the ADCs themselves and they would be doing the exact same job, maybe 'slightly' worse. Lets take Essence Reaver item 3508 for example.

This item alone fixes problems half the cast of ADCs had, so much so it's being rushed most games I play. The best comparison I could think of for other champs would be Black Cleaver item 3071. Each is fine on it's own and I would argue that cleaver is more powerful by itself on most champions, however the raw synergy of reaver is so massive that it should be built on nearly ANY ADC. By contrast Black Cleaver is good on most top laners or junglers, but isn't going to go on all of them and function the same way.

Because of the new items with the changes to ADCs I believe having both makes them far too strong compared to the power they have always had and the way they have shaped the game around them since the ADC + support bot lane was discovered. Leaving out that they are the only role to be given dedicated help to make up for the only real weakness they have.

Honestly I think Riot should start introducing more champions like Mordekaiser, to give an alternative to running a marksman bot lane, as having an ADC is the only role that Riot has actually enforced as the meta. You don't need an AP mage mid, as there are also AD assassins. There isn't a requirement to run a tank top, because there are carry toplaners like Fiora, and you don't have to run a tank in the jungle, because the other jungle items can be pretty good, like Devourer on Shyvana.

i AGREE with the need for more diversity in the game. The game seriously needs to add a support type item that gives gold / experience to a support that travels with the jungler from camp to camp. This would provide a very new unique aspect to the game that allows a whole array of new strategy. Especially with the rift herald being introduced. Seeing a jungler and his support fight another jungler and support for objectives like drag and the rift herald needs to be a possibility in the game.

I apologize for leaving this alone, I had a lot on my plate.

@PrinceOfStorms: I very much agree with that idea, and in regards to your comment about how you can take anything else pretty much anywhere, i think it shows a lot of bias with how they have kept the ADCs currently. The Mordekaiser rework was a success in some ways and a failure in others. Primarily they made him too strong, but 'too strong' against an ADC is sometimes debatable in raw power, but I do think morde was a tad too beefy on release.

@NAU6HTY NURSE: That's a really cool idea! I would argue that by making ADCs as they are and how even with the changes, diversity hasn't been close to achieved something like this would be a fresh difference. ADCs as is are no different, no matter what changes that have happened.
