The class/role that REALLY needs an overhaul is...

...supports. Supports need a drastic overhaul, and here's the reason why. No one wants to play support!

Team Builder came along, and the only reason to play support was to buck the queue times. Dynamic Queue took its place, and didn't do anything to solve that problem. Now you have players who were assigned a support role trying to trade and/or force people out of their assigned position. Or, when they don't get out of it, they grieve the ADC so that they can carry from the support position. Sure, you can report these people, but that's really a band-aid. It doesn't address the real problem which is... NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY SUPPORT!

Supports need an overhaul so that they can be fun to play. Hopefully, the Taric rework is a step in the right direction. Also, the mastery that allowed supports to gain bonus exp needs to come back. Handicapping them makes the situation that much more worse.

If anyone who mains support has some suggestions on how to make this happen, I'm all ears. We need to make people WANT to play this role. It'll make the game more fun and there will be less toxicity in the bot lane.

How many times do me and many other people need to say it.

NOTHING NEEDS TO CHANGE ABOUT SUPPORTS

a very specific support recently used to be very strong, his name was tahm Kench, if I remember correctly we were getting a million "please nerf tahm kench" posts a day.

The problem with the support role is that the majority of players would rather play something else. The fact that it is the least picked role proves it.

To be honest, I feel like it's more of a personal preference/opinion than an actual "problem." Like... what I'm saying is that there are people who enjoy the role and then there's those who don't. Mostly people want to have fun by getting fed and wrecking everybody, but supports are giving all that power to their team instead of getting it themselves and I can see why it makes Support such an underrated role. It's also extremely hard to carry with and you need more game knowledge than when you're playing other roles, believe it or not.

I agree with the other that said it more likely not the role it self that is the trouble but the players. Ever one what to be the carry of the team and kill ever one. Not many what to be the one that set it all up for some one else.

The reason support is least picked is due to the fact that no one wants to play the healer in any game.

Look at mmorpgs, Clerics/Priest/Healers are the least seen because ppl want to be these damage dealers like mages/rogues/warriors.

I knew it was going to be support. Look, try the new mages in the botlane. I'm sure they can do well.

It's not so much support champs, it's the role itself. Yes, Riot could increase the power level of support champs, but would that make people want to play support or play support champs in other roles? My guess is the second scenario. Just about the only time a champ gets popular in the support role (Annie, Tahm, Thresh) they're overtuned to the point where they have often have more kills than the marksman.

Most players want to watch their kills rack up, not help other people get kills. Overhauling support champs won't improve that scenario much.
