Trying to Learn Tristana

So I am trying to learn one of my favorite ADCs, Tristana. The problem is, every time I play her, I do terribly, and any time the other team has one, they do great.

Now, the match I have linked was a very unusual outlier for many reasons. Basically, by mid-game, their Talon could 2-shot me easily under tower and walk out with hardly a scratch. In fact, their Talon had close to 3000hp late game and was easily nuking me even still. And of course, no one on our team could seem to keep him off me, and their whole team built tank (seriously, tank Fizz?), which meant I was the only one who could do any kind of sustained damage. But in pops any one of their 4 divers, and that would be the end of me.

So here is what I'm looking for:

1. General tips on playing Tristana.
2. Specialized tips on playing against assassins who for some reason are allowed to be tankier than most bruisers.
3. How much of these losses were my fault vs the balance of the items on guys like Talon and Fizz? I'm not looking for the blow to be softened, per se, but I know I have a tendency to blame my teammates or game balance, and I really would like an honest, balanced opinion on where I went wrong vs what I couldn't have helped.
