Champion Mastery System

This system needs to be changed to award the individual, not for winning. I played a game as Teemo, and yes I am a noob for playing Teemo, and I went 32-1-6, 261 cs, full build, and it was a 47 minute long game. Even though I could one hit pretty much anyone on their team we had TWO people afk, and it is very difficult to win a 3 v 5. After all of this we ended up losing and I got 165 champion mastery points, but if I feed and my team wins I get anywhere from 800-1200 champion mastery points. I think winning should contribute points but because it is a champion mastery, it should be based mostly on how the individual does.

I agree

My argument would be if I could not lose on teemo but always went 0/60/0. I would be a better teemo player than one that always loses but goes 60/0/60.

I don't have an essay prepared for those, so here goes:

The reason that winning the match is by far the biggest factor in calculating how many mastery points you receive is to prevent any sort of situation where people would take actions that are more focused on getting mastery points than winning.

For example, if k/d/a ratio was a big factor then people who had a high score on a team thats doing poorly would spam surrender or avoid all teamfights so that they end with a high k/d/a and get the mastery points they want despite the fact that if they threw their weight around with the relatively high gold they have they might be able to turn the game around.

If cs was important you'd have people who ignore teamfights and objectives to run around farming all game.

If damage dealt was important it would be even harder to get a good team comp as people would pick only champs that racked up high post game damage stats.

You get the idea. Either riot would need some incredibly complex secret formula for mastery point gain that noone could experiment with to figure out, or they can do it they way they chose and force you to win the game to get any decent amount of points so that theres never a situation where maximizing mastery point gain ever conflicts with winning the match.

Yes, that is a very good point, but I do not think it should count for such a high percentage of the final score.
