Appreciate bronze players or become one

I see a lot of people making fun of bronze players on the boards and/or saying that their opinion doesn't count. The truth of the matter is that you need us. If every bronze player left the game today then you would be the bronze player. Yeah even if you're plat 2 right now you're rank would be gold 1 and any hopes you had of making diamond would become almost nil.

I have been playing somewhat frequently for about a year and I have never made it out of bronze but I'm ok with that. In fact, honestly, bronze games are more fun anyway. I queue up with my silver friends from time to time and the games become slightly more methodical, less of the wild swings and shifts in momentum.

Do our opinions count...... well if something is out of line in bronze only that affects hundreds of thousands of players. If something is out of line in diamond only then only 5,000 players are affected. Granted the LCS is a big deal if something gets out of line there it not only affects the 70 or so pro teams but also affects the millions of viewers. I'm not saying they should balance the game for bronze, nor am I saying that random bronze player knows anything about balance. What I am saying is that sometimes when a bronze player says something about balance they are only giving you insight into the bronze experience.

Riot can't afford to have 42% of it's player base unhappy.

My personal opinion is they should balance for the LCS and bronze and diamond players only. Most of the balancing should be done for the pro scene because it affects the most people. The next most balancing should be done for diamond+ solo queue because that is where the pros come from and if things are balanced there then it should generally be balanced for gold-plat. The next most balancing should be done for bronze players to ensure that nothing done at the top ruins the experience at the bottom. Things can get out of line in bronze and it's no big deal, however, when things get really bad (like 40% or higher pick/ban or higher than 55% win rate) then some kind of tuning should be considered. If things are balanced in bronze it's probably fine in silver-gold and if things are balanced in diamond they're probably fine for plat-gold.

Everyone's opinions count. However, bronze player's opinions on gameplay issues tend to be. . . silly to higher elo players. A lot of things the boards players cry "broken" to have very obvious counterplay as you climb higher up the ranked ladder. Example: Master whee (Yi) has always been a pub stomper and excels in lower elos. The higher you climb though, the more of a joke he becomes. So when a bronze player calls something like him op, the higher ranking boards members can probably deal with it quite easily.

Let's say a bronze player thinks kalista is too weak for how hard she is to play. If riot balanced around bronze, she would be buffed and would become MONSTROUS from plat elo and up. 50% bronze winrate with kalista would be 60%+ in diamond. That's because a lot of the bronze struggles come from their own mistakes.

They're not saying your opinions don't matter, but on gameplay issues, sometimes they're not actual issues except to bronze players.

If the game were at all balanced around bronze elo, it would turn out like HotS. Thankfully, it is balanced around plat+.

If a champion is considered balanced on the high elo, then it's balanced on low elo too. It's just bronzies that don't know what to do against certain champions that deem them "broken".

I can't really take into account seriously a bronze's guy opinions, and I'll tell you why. If what the guy said was true (broken champions, itemization, suggestions etc), then the guy wouldn't be in bronze, because he would have the correct game knowledge to at least GET OUT OF BRONZE. You are in bronze for a very good reason, and that's because, as harsh as this sounds, your game knowledge sucks, your mechanics suck, your game sense sucks, your premades probably suck. And that's alright. I'm not very good at basketball, for example. If there was a bronze division for basketball, I'd probably be in it. I would understand though that my opinion doesn't have a lot of merit, since the people who are actually good probably already know what's up and have the correct thought.

If bronze players never existed, then someone had to be the worst player. So, Silver V would be the bronze V. I don't understand how this is relevant. Bronze is a just a word that currently depicts a division where the worst players in league belong. If bronze didn't exist and divisions started from Silver, then I would be Plat 2 instead of Gold 2. I don't understand the point you're trying to make.

Since I'm a mathematician, I will give you another example. I can't trust some random guy who never really got into maths to tell me about some math theorems or proofs. The guy has no clue, because he sucks at math, so his opinion isn't trustworthy. I'm not saying who have no say, I'm just saying I will better trust a Diamond guy telling me something than a Bronze guy, as far as game knowledge / balance goes.

And again, all these come from the fact that you guys are in Bronze. I always said that getting out of bronze doesn't even need anything special. You don't need any insane mechanical skill or anything, it just requires you to be clever about the game. Be calm and clever. Every friend I have in bronze that eventually got out, they all agreed with me on that. I told them "play smart, don't do stupid things in the game". And they agreed. They said that their mechanics (skillshots, dodging etc) didn't really improve, but avoiding stupid things and choosing the correct choice actually helped them climb out. Therefore, if you are stuck in bronze, even when playing with silver premades, then this means that you game sense is really bad. You do stupid things in your games, you choose to take the wrong decisions when it matters and you pay that by losing lanes and losing games.

In bronze, you can call Irelia broken as much as you want. The fact that as an ADC you try to engage on a 7/2 Irelia is not Irelia being broken, it's the ADC being stupid.

Lmao are you trying to defend bronze? You dont know sh!t about the game yet are trying to talk about whats balanced and what not. Talking as a bronzie reminds me of a 10 year old trying to act tough to an adult. Also you are the low end of bronze lol.

I'm not sure what it's called exactly, but are you familiar with the term (or saying, whatever you prefer), of "The average of the masses"?

The meaning behind this is that, on average, there will always be those below and those above the average. And, you know what's the most AMAZING part of it? Regardless of what SPECTRUM you're on (or side, if that's too difficult for you to comprehend), each player improves. That means, some people will be knocked down and others will be bumped up. Those in the middle CAN fall or CAN rise as well. That's because skill isn't a "static" thing, it's dynamic.

What this means is that some people with purely raw talent will end up being surpassed by those who just simply have more time to hone their skills. I'm sure you've had friends that just simply had a knack for things and simply were able to beat up on you in certain sports/games, but you put so much time and effort you end up beating them at it at one point in your life. If not, I'm sure you've watched those cliche sport dramas or whatever. Just because they're talented at it, doesn't mean it's something that they enjoy doing so much to sink their life into it.

Now, because of this, those people normally start at the top and then drop back down because they only have a mild interested in it. So even if the ENTIRE bronze populace was to drop off the game, the only thing that would happen would be a shift in skill:

The veterans of the game will remain therefore increasing the AVERAGE skill level of the game. Do you get where I'm going with this? Your spot will be filled regardless and whiles "bronze" will be a place with half decent people now, it really doesn't matter as there are more than enough Gold - Plat players that can be knocked back down to fill those gaps regardless.

I haven't read your entire post, so keep in midn this is only in reference to the "if all of us bronze people left" bit of it.
