The new client allows this. It's progressing fairly well, but I wouldn't expect a public release till either late this year or sometime next.

Not gonna happen in the Legacy Client. It was already discussed by Rito that it's a pain in the ass to do right now and no new features will be hitting the Legacy Client because the NCU is on the way. Not sure if this feature is being worked on there ATM as Riot is more concerned to make sure everything is working smoothly and efficiently in the new client but they are taking community suggestions for the new client.

The thing you want is not on their "must to-do" list now, it's probably small amount of work that will be done in the "polishing" phase - last phase before the release.

I am wrong as people are reporting that in the Alpha, it's a thing. Still though, not gonna happen in the Legacy Client.
