Low elo items?

Everyone talks about "what champ to play to get out of low elo".

Noone asks about items. I feel like there are certain items that are simply better suited in lower elo play than in higher elo. Example: harder to take true advantage of the banner of command in lower elo because players dont typically understand how and when to use it, nor do they use the baron buff properly at all.

What items are good to use in lower elos, and which items should low elo players just avoid entirely? I understand thats a somewhat broad question, just use your main and/or secondary lanes to base your answers if thats easier (i.e. if your an adc main, talk about good/bad adc items, and etc)
