Shen Rework is the best rework Riot has done in a long time.

this coming from a top laner who 1) played since the beta and 2) played high diamond elo for seasons 4 and 5.

I hated the old shen. He was boring. He always forced a stalemate. He literally could only be played one way in EVERY MATCH-UP.

Q, Q, Q, auto attack, negate damage, Q, Q, Q, auto attack, negate damage, Q, Q, Q, ........ how can anyone look at that and think "what a clever design"

What I like about the new shen:

Rewarded for being good you can't play like a mentally challenged person and get away with it anymore much better at laning against ranged champions

(explanations) New shen can make excellent combinations of abilities, like, dash>taunt>Q for the long distance SKILL SHOT>boom attack speed>win trade Now I feel like I'm actually making a difference when I use my ultimate, because I'm shielding my ally, then shielding ALL my allies, then hard CC'ing the enemy, and doing damage to boot.

I don't understand the complaints, oh wait, yes I do, because low elo players will cry over everything.

he needs his sustain back.... a Shen tank without sustain is just plain silly!

I agree. New Shen is dope. Closest thing to Sion's rework imo.

I personally love the Shen rework. Do I think its flawless? Nope. The only thing I don't like about it is the lack of a fall back plan. Missing Taunt really stinks, and even hitting it can make you very vulnerable to ganks.

As stated, I love this rework :) but I do feel the risk vs reward is a little off. It would be nice to have something happen when the blade hits a champion other than the "more dmg on autos" and attack speed. I will go in and win an early trade, then as the wave pushes back against me, I find myself wishing I could just pull that blade through them to cap off the trade, but alas, it was not meant to be.

Did I mention that I really like the rework though? Like, I feel like I ACTUALLY do damages! And although I think laning vs ranged is a little tougher without the ability to farm with vorpal blade, laning vs melee has gotten much better, Darius pulls you, you bring your blade, and hit W. He misses his auto and reset, he retreats with his Q, you stay on him and take no bleed stacks! AMAZING (did this once already)

I like that they replaced his sustain with shielding that is based on hitting abilities. It rewards Shen for predicting when his enemies will hit him, and then Shen using an ability to shield up the attack, rather than just hitting Q whenever and winning for it. That's some nice design.

I mostly agree with you, except the elo-shaming in the end. That was a good thread with valid arguments, why go this ugly route?
