Higher requirements for ranked

if you don't know how to play a champ or the role don't play it in ranked. there needs to be a mastery requirement to play a champ in ranked as well as an account mastery requirement to show you have basic game sense of champs and match ups. norms is to practice. being lvl 30 and then joing your first ranked game were they place you in silver or higher elo is wrong. why is iron there if everyone who should be in that elo is just placed above it, so they drag people down with them. please make it so in order to play a champion in ranked you must have a minimum mastery with that champion and your over all mastery score. for example if the minimum mastery requirement per champion is rank 5 (the highest rank you get for just playing enough games to earn the mastery points regardless of how good you are). then you should have to have a minimum of 20 champions to play ranked which would also require a minimum mastery score of the equivalent (20 champions x level 5 mastery rank). after that simple addition to the ranked ladder it would also solve the issue for when new champions come out since you will now have to lvl up to rank 5 mastery and by then they should ether be balance or you should at least know the basics. on top of that it will make the number of smurfs go down most likely do to how long the grind truly is.

I'm against restrictions. Now, I don't PERSONALLY take champs into ranked until I'm mastery level 5. But I also think that people should be allowed to do what they want. If they do it, they'll probably lose, and therefore lose ranks, and you won't have to play with them anymore. It all works out.

Nah, man. Brand new totally means the same thing as competitive-ready. [slayer-jinx-wink]

I unironically believe that you should only be allowed to pick a champion in ranked if you have at least mastery level 1, maybe 2, on it

Everybody voting no has at least one permabanned account. I'd put money on it.

im against restrictions because at what point do you stop? 20 champs. mastery 5? 20 champs mastery 5, 100 games in role? if i buy a champ i then have to no life it to play in ranked? 140 champs mastery 5 on all of them to play ranked? level increased to 50-100? theres no way to balance matchmaking in ranked. i do feel placements need to have their own ranks or something to prevent brand new iron players being placed silver 1/2 and ruining the games every single time

Just quit playing this game. It is bad anyways. Everyone who takes it seriously for an extended period of time hates their life. You would get more lasting satisfaction out of wandering around your city for days on end mapping out where all the people who don't mow their lawns live.

if there's mastery gating to play champs in ranked how will the pro's get practice on those random meta defining champs they've never played before?

every no vote is literally someone who wants to troll and enjoys ruining other peoples games so if every time they have to make a new account they had to do this it would be an issue. every single concern you have brought up is solved by practicing in norms and playing in ranked when your ready pro or not your not above the need for practice and exp with a new champ or match up. if the pros didnt need to practice then why is it not the same winning team every single year?

all of you are forgetting that ranked is to climb in elo were norms is to practice so that answers all of those so called concerns or questions you play the champion or the new account to the point were you have enough champions at a high enough rank which will give you basic knowledge on those champions and basic knowledge on most likely the rest as you will have had to play against many different people. so less trolls cuz you wont want to loose your account. less first time champion playing noobs that feed there asses off. and less smurfs or account boosting because the grind is not going to be worth the time
