So since everyone says that tanks are bad nowadays, wanted to see what kind of meta they want.

Tanks I must agree do seem to have a loss in terms of effectiveness. The game has become quicker and players want to see tanks become a bigger part of the game, but what I ask from you is how much do you guys want to see tanks be tanky? IMO I want to see tanks become raid bosses again. DrMundo Sion

I think I'd like a rock paper scissors meta where no on class is best or worst class and each has its strengths and weaknesses over other classes.

I want every class/type of champion to scale equally to all other classes and types of champions (note that that doesn't mean I want each individual champion to scale the same). I want there to be early-game mages and late-game mages. I want there to be early-game tanks and late-game tanks. I want there to be early-game RADs and late-game RADs. And so on as well as everything in between.

As for what I want out of tanks specifically, I hate that whether or not they are viable depends on the amount of damage they can output. I want them to force the enemy team to deal with them for reasons other than "well, he'll kill me if I don't kill him first".

I want Meddler to think about base numbers and internal balance. For example, I want Rakan's base ad to not be the highest in the game. Jungle camps stronger and more rewarding for slower clears. I want trading in lane, without the immense passive power given by runes. I want turrets to not be gold farms. I want the green trinkets buffed so vision control can flourish again. I want Baron and Dragon to do more damage. I want a greater selection of AP items, especially another ap/ar item. I still want barrier to last 5 seconds so it completely counters ignite. Etc...

You know what's funny? I'm duoing a guy who used to be D IV down in Gold/Silver. Last night we purely got carried by a Mundo, because we were vs a Sivir/Sona, who at least the Sivir was heavy smurfing (probably current diamond)

But even though Sivir/Sona got online..... Our Mundo/Cho Gath were literally almost able to 2v5. Mundo was taking 30% of Sona's HP per Q, and kept on her with his W, and she couldn't do anything nor could Sivir. Nor could their Master Yi!

The 2/7/13 Morgana game (about 5 down)

I only had 11,388 damage received the entire game, but died 7 times. In other words, Sivir and Sona didn't waste ANY damage. If they wanted to kill me, they killed me. I never got hit by any other poke.

Mundo did over 5k more than me and died once, and soaked over twice the damage I took.

You might call this a Cassiopeia overall carry, but Mundo is the real reason we won. It's hard to show without wasting a lot of time trying to screen capture the game, but he controlled the entire flow of the game, which enabled Cass to do more of her job.


#Bottom line: The RIGHT tanks are very relevant right NOW. The challenge is: SUPPORT tanks generally build 2 HP items first and put off building Armor/Resist, so they don't feel like tanks. But Jungle Voli, Mundo, Cho Gath, Garen; those tanks are all doing fine. Ornn top can be downright oppressive if he's got a lead. Poppy is outright a game centerpiece (just not played that often because she's Poppy)

Tanks can be raid-bosses, as long as they don't deal insane amounts of damage in addition to being unkillable. I want tanks to play like the generic MMO class of the same name, where their sole purpose is to absorb a ton of damage while drawing enemy attention away from the squishy damage dealers using cc. As a trade-off, their own personal damage output is almost nothing. IMO many of the problems people have with tanks only seem to occur when tanks are given %HP damage. Think about all the problematic tanks over the years: Sejuani, Ornn, Shen, Maokai, Zac........they all have or have had %HP damage in their kit, pushing their damage up far higher than it should be for champions whose purpose isn't to deal damage.
