are you joking? I was promised a real shot at hextech annie, or at least the last 2 gemstones i needed to make it. Don't say I get a 50 percent chance at a bonus then cheap me out of my money.

The marketing on orbs is pretty deceptive. You get two gems per drop, but the drop itself is only half as likely (possibly even less) as a drop from a hextech chest so it breaks even with them.
I've still never seen hextech annie drop in any of the orb-opening sessions that I've used as sample sizes, so it's possible that the direct drop from orbs is also just as rare as it is from hextech chests.
Riot won't even give you a straight or accurate answer on how good or bad orbs are for gems or gem-skins.

You get a 50% chance at a bonus drop that is either Tokens, Gems (2) or an Annie/Vayne shard (based on the orb). Of those drops though, the Gems and shard have about a 2% chance of happening. So you are more likely to get
A. No drop. B. A Token drop.
They've really ramped down the RNG stuff. I used to get a box per S - those days are long gone.

Well that's RNG for you. I've gotten 2 gemstones in a row and Elementalist lux, from one chest. I've also spent $40 on chests only to get 11 champion shards and a bunch of shit old skins.
idk man I spent about $50 on the last double chance and now I'm sitting on 10 (soon to be a guaranteed 11) gemstones.
