So what are you going to give nami, alistar, and other champions who only offer heals ,cc, and shields to make them viable again

Mage supports can be somewhat annoying to deal with, but utility/tank supports have consistently higher win-rates.

Mage supports are generally more useful for low-ELO games or autofilled players who refuse to actually support.

They might be useful to add damage to a team which already has high utility, but those situations are rare since everyone just wants to play carries.

In the LCK miss fortune and malz are used as supp instead of what we are used to seeing like sona , janna or thresh

but solo que isnt the lck.. its solo que. thats why what they do does normally work. theyre pros. they can do as they please if it works. and theyre always in a team setting, in solo youre not. period.

Maybe you just need some more practice so you won't be so useless at support champions.

I mean I play thresh basically every game and have a 67% winrate with him over my accounts (all plat1+)

Maybe things are different at 30, but right now i play Bard as a go to main for support and he works rather well.

I do agree that supports are not at the point where they need to be. Right now Zyra is considered to be the number 1 support pick and Malz is up there as well. Sure Thresh is good and probably always will be. The thing is not that other support champions aren't viable. It's just that they are so out classed by other supports that aren't in the support role by intention of design. Especially the healing supports, with the exception of Soraka, have been so outclassed by everything else. I'm a Nami main and I love her and mostly I like it because it's a solid safe pick. Yes, I feel like there is a long list of better supports to play in almost every situation but without the trust that a team will follow up or not get poked down, it's a safe pick. I won't be able to get away with this at higher ranks though where other supports have more reliable CC, more damage, more survivability and overall more synergy. Pure supports definitely need a good look to see what can be done to solidify their role in the game. Sadly it's not an easy task because about every time Riot tries to do this, AP mid laners tend to get an unintended use of new items and takes them mid, or mid laners gain more viability as support.
