Skins and Clarity

A few years ago, Riot made a push for clarity in game, adding things like the indicator around Gragas' Q, adding consistent visual indicators to help you make sense of things. Lately, I've been having trouble with telling champions apart from each other. Part of this is because I'm an idiot, but part of it is because of skins.

I thought an Akali was a Camille because she had white hair (Silverfang Akali, I believe).

All the star guardian skins look pretty much identical, especially Soraka, Syndra, Miss Fortune, and Janna.

My friend thought Kayn had already evolved into Shadow Assassin because that kayn was blue (Soulstealer Kayn?)

Skins are causing people to misread situations and I want to know if it's possible to develop an option to strip skin changes ingame. Apparently graphics settings make a huge difference as well and I'm getting frustrated with not knowing what happened because I thought a champion was someone else. I know using and purchasing skins is a ton of fun, but it's happened so much frequently that I'm starting to prefer clean gameplay over cosmetics (crazy, right?). I'd like a bit of insight into whether this is something that can be done.
