A Way to Improve Sportsmanship

We all have our good and bad games. I, personally, main Blitzcrank. I just feel most comfortable playing with him because I have the most experience with him. However one specific game made me realize that losing is not all that bad. It was my first game of the day, (not having played in a few days) and I joined right into a normal game on Summoner's Rift, no warm up game or anything. So as I expected, I played awfully. Now I won't lie, I am not the type that can play awfully and lose a game without getting at least a little angry. It is a problem I am working on. Anyway, the game lasted about 40 minutes. 40 minutes of me playing like crap and having a large impact on the loss for my team... But I did not get angry at all. This was because my teammates and the other team were all very positive, nice people. Both teams communicated back and forth with each other, all saying nice things, letting other players know when they did a good job, and that's when I realized that losing a game is not all that bad. In fact I had a ton of fun that game, more fun that I almost ever had in a game of League of Legends, and afterwards honoring everyone for friendly behavior. Anyways, I think Riot Games should add in some kind of feature to overall better the sportsmanship of League of Legends. A feature such as this: Whenever the game starts, you can walk halfway up your lane, meeting midway with your lane opponent, and press a command button to shake hands, while in this time being invulnerable (so they can't try anything sneaky), or SOMETHING like that. Or maybe a command that allows your champion to say "good luck". Or maybe during the loading screen, have an option to send a positive message to a specific opponent, or the enemy team. A message that a player is able to pick from a drop-down arrow. This was just an idea that came across me very quickly. I also understand that making an animation for each champion to shake hands would be a difficult task for Riot. Like I said, I DON'T KNOW. Just a thought. Let me know if you agree with this thought of mine. And as always, have a great day or night, and conquer those objectives!

Thank you all :)

Hey, it's the small stuff that counts for this sort of thing. A fist bump/handshake sounds nice but will probably lead to lots of tricks and stuff that will result in bm and misplacing other peoples trust. Teams waiting nearby to take advantage of the handshake and whatnot. It's a really nice thought though.

It would just be nice if we could make it a norm for people to act and treat each other like the people in your game did. It might just start with everyone who reads this board to step up and compliment or give advice to their team and opponents when they do something good rather than try to be cool or edgy with the useless "rekt" comments that do nothing other than create tense feelings. What if we just did a thing like hearthstone and only allowed certain pre-made phrases available?

I agree that the little colorful sportsmanlike banners are nice but the things are so hard to maintain because of their never ending thirst for honors. And its not enough incentive to not be a completely awful person to others. I had some of the worst games ever with premade teams lying and telling the other teams I was toxic when I did absolutely nothing. And as far as I know, there was no punishment for any of these people.

There needs to be more rewards for nice and friendly players as well as more punishments for toxic players.

P.S. I can't vote because idk what the vote means. This is what is called a shotgun question. Do I agree with the ideas you had or that riot should implement more ways to improve sportsmanship?
