Request to Riot from a Skarner player

Hello. My name is Shalken, and I have a general request to Riot regarding Skarner.

As many of you can relate, achieving that prestigious S rank in a game is something a player strives for. It's the cherry on top of the cake that lets you really know that you made a difference. Also, considering the recent addition of Hextech crafting, a good portion of its mechanics (keys, tier 6 and up champion mastery, etc) rely on you achieving that S in your games.

I'm not saying that this is a bad system, in fact I rather enjoy it. It really makes you feel that you earned those rewards. However, there is one slight problem that I'd like to address.

As you can see, I have played two games as Rek'Sai and one as Skarner, all three in the jungle. In my first Rek'Sai game (at the bottom), I achieved an S-. In the second, I earned an S. This is perfectly fine. However, in my game as Skarner, I earned an A.

Now, I'm not 100% sure about all the little details and mechanics that go into this ranking system, but I'll do a systematic breakdown of why I believe I got an A as Skarner.

My gameplay was more or less exactly the same in all three games; I was getting kills, giving assists, successfully ganking lanes, counter-jungling, warding, and taking dragons in all three (in fact, I took the most number of dragons in my Skarner game than in the other two).

So what was the biggest difference in those games? Primarily, my play style. As Rek'Sai, I was playing as a bruiser, with damaging masteries and more damaging items, whereas with Skarner I was going (almost) full tank and playing more supportively.

I think the community can agree with me that Skarner is, undoubtedly, a tanky champion. Every Skarner that I have seen plays as a tank, and his mechanics highly support a tanky playstyle. I have yet to see a Skarner player use him as anything else but tanky, and I honestly don't believe he'd be able to compete against other champions listed as Fighters.

My question is, why is he listed as a Fighter primary role? I personally believe that this is the main reason why I only ever earn Bs and As with Skarner, despite doing very well with him.

To summarize, I'm asking Riot if they could possibly change Skarner's primary role to Tank, with the secondary as Fighter. Perhaps I'm entirely wrong about the ranking system and it's something else beyond what I understand. If that's the case, then I suppose I can live with it. Even if it won't solve the problem, I stil recommend changing his role to reduce confusion amongst new players.

The system works by finding your champion then roll and comparing it to the average player on that champ in that roll. All factors apply for example today on illaoi I went 5/11/11 nunu got an s+ cause I did 68k damage from being camped 24/7 with r and w spam so every time I died I added at least 3000 damage to my score

I also play Skarner from time to time and I feel you.

I have never gotten even an S- with him, even in games I carried hard. I find it nearly impossible to get S with him and I don't know why it is.

My guess is it's because there are people out there playing AD Skarner doing lots of damage, farming and getting lots of kills and by comparison anyone that play him tank won't have as good of a score.

The system works by comparison with other Skarner players, but I think the threshold needs to be revisited for certain champions.
