Can we put an end to lane swaps now Riot?

Lane swaps/2v1 lanes/Whatever you want to call them have gotten so ridiculous now in the competitive scene that top laners are now starting to take smite in order to get gold in the early/mid game because they are almost totally unable to in the lane they are supposed to be In without either being heavily denied or risk being dove under tower. I can't fault the top laners for doing it and I applaud the innovation because top laners have in quite a few games ended up with the same amount of gold or less than the support on the team while being much less relevant.

Nobody likes lane swaps. The players have said they don't like them but they only do it because they have to, the fans hate it because its boring, and it's just becoming more and more toxic to the gameplay as time goes on. Over the last 3 seasons that lane swaps have existed they have slowly shut out top laners from being able to Impact the game more and more to the point that now they're just saying screw the top lane and jungling, taking scaps of lane farm when it becomes available.

TL; DR Change lane swapping so that there's an actual downside to it other than having gold starved top laners. If a team picks a weak lane adc like Vayne or Twitch or Kog'Maw (Which was the reason why lane swappinh started) they shouldn't be getting a free pass by initiating a lane swap Meanwhile throwing both top laners under the bus.

Lane swapping isn't as toxic as people make it sound, and many times its possible to counter it via deep wards early, but often even though teams see the lane swap coming they do little to fight for a number of possible reasons, everything from having a hyper scaler of their own to having an ADC who can push turrets faster, say Lucien vs Kog Lucien could drop his tower and get down to bot before Kog got his tower to half health.

Its a strategic choice and frankly the game should be going out of its way to push these types of strategic playstyles over the individual high mechanical playstyle we have seen for the past few years.

There is like only 1 meta and 1 strategy in this game atm.

Not sure why you wanna trim it down even more, we should open up for other things not removing what we have.

I don't follow the LCS that much...

What game did a top laner take smite???

The MoBA map is simply designed to favor this strategy.

It ensures no heavy early game disadvantage befalls two of your lanes compared to two of theirs. Your duo lane and theirs will both be on pace, and both top lanes will be denied.

2v1 and 3v1 laning has existed for as long as I've played Dota League is actually an exception in that it sometimes has standard lane match ups.
