I don't understand. Just this evening, I played a ranked against a Veigar. Brief synopsis, I played all right during the game, KDA aside. During the final teamfight, I was busy melting their Volibear. Voli ults, autos something, and does about 100 damage to me from the chain effect. Late game Xayah, should be fine, I have lifesteal, right? I get one-shot by Veigar ult, losing the teamfight and the game, consequently. What does one do? I'm a Bronze III with a shameful track record, sure, but I have reviewed this particular game. I don't know what could have been done. If someone could provide insight into what I could do better, please do so. I have such a hard time understanding this game as it is; help would be great. Thank you.

Either dodge his mouse cursor, or have your team peel for you.

Considering you're Bronze, you won't have a team so unless you can carry, well... rip.

Although, try buying a Magic Resist Item next time, or a GA depending on your teamfight situation.

ALSO, check your runes, goddamn they're a mess.

Sometimes there's nothing you can do. Veigar is broken that way. If you aren't building a defensive item, then start there. But click-target skills are a cop-out and that's how people climb, by using shit that can't be dodged/mitigated (true dmg). It's cheap as fuck tactic but people don't care. They just want that ELO climb.
