Allowing snowball components in aram is breaking one of the most fundamental rules of aram
Snowball component has always been categorically banned in aram, at least when it was a custom game mode and the players themselves made the rules. I know you may be thinking that the forum post says snowball items instead of snowball components. To me, it's pretty clear that by that, they mean Mejai's, Sword of the Occult, Leviathan and any and every other snowball component or effect Riot would make in the future. They obviously didn't think that Masteries would be renamed to runes and given game changing effects. There are some runes that function very similarly to Mejai's, Occult, Leviathan and ara called Triumph, Dark Harvest and Presence of Mind. Enforcing this ban again, has the exact same reasoning as it had originally in 2010: stacking Mejai's means that whoever wins the first fight gets a huge advantage, and since everyone is always bunched up, getting takedowns are too easy compared to Summoner's Rift, making the item overtuned, since the game is balanced around Summoner's Rift. The same argument can and should be applied to snowball runes in 2018. The snowball factors already in the game, with the kill gold and exp, exp lost to minions, ambient gold lost to minions, and minions being buffed so they push super hard, should snowball the games enough.
