Lissandra nerfs and new passive

This is not what Lissandra needs.

This is one of the most myopic things I have seen Riot doing as of late, and that is saying something.

We are going to nerf the heck out of her burst (they already did this quite a few times since her release) but still require her to go "all in" to fully utilize her kit. Now, we are going to have a passive that requires us to kill someone with severely nerfed burst... the hell?!

Big Question: Where are we supposed to play Lissandra?

  • Can't play her mid, as she will be either out ranged or out burst by most if not all pics. He poke game is weak, and her all in burst has gotten nerfed. So what do? Use the passive? Well I have to kill someone to do that so this isn't helping any in laning phase.

  • Can't play her top, her defensive scaling got nerfed a while back plus she doesn't have the damage or the range to contend with top. (Garen, Darius, Jayce, Illaoi, Maokai, Urgot, and Scion and more will walk all over her). Again, the passive is useless in laning phase.

  • Lol, her clear speed early is pathetic so I won't even discuss jungle.

  • Can't play her as support as she can't contend with initiators (Braum, Leona, Thresh, Blitz, Pyke, Shen, and Rakan) and she can't contend with enchanters (Lulu, Jana, Soraka, Karma, and Lux). Plus, her passive will be useless unless you are Ks'ing you are KS'ing your carry.

**Well then what is the benefit? **

So let's look at mid to late game. In a team fight you can disrupt but you damage is horrible so who are you really going to kill to make use of the new passive. You W and R are the only 2 things really useful here for the CC and there are other champions who do it better.

Lissandra is an "all-in" mage. She isn't a poke, she is more like LeBlanc and Talon when it comes to mid. She finds an opening and jumps in and bursts. Now that you have less damage on your burst (it was already comparativly low before and should have been buffed NOT NERFED) you are less likely to be able to get that kill and make use of the passive, again if you are 1v1 it will be wasted anyway.

So what is Riot's idea with this? Where do they want us to play her? What does she actually bring to the table? Why choose her over any other champion? These are all questions that Riot has failed to answer and again they just throw some mess up and call it a day. Please, please, please do not go through with these changes and go back to the drawing board. You should be helping Lissandra's burst and "all-in" gameplay, not harming it and pushing her farther and farther into obscurity.

**TLDR: **These changes harm Lissa more than they help her and will negatively impact her gamplay. They need to be reviewed and changed as this is not a build that should make it to live.

Edit Yes, it is any enemy champ that dies within range of Lissa. Sorry for the confusion, still doesn't help laning phase.

You don't have to be the one to land the killing blow tho, any champ that dies near her, turns into ice thrall, probably you don't even need to get an assist. Other than that I agree, her burst is mediocre at best as it is, nerfing it further will hurt Lissandra a lot.

She will get at least the 10 Base damage to her W back Meddler just announced so its something... I feel like the E damage shouldve been nerfed as the increased projectile speed of E encourages her to use it as an aescape tool but the fact that they didnt nerf E enourages her to use it as an ability.. Im confused we shall see what happens when she hits live

I like how lissandra wasnt even touched until pros started running her with aftershock now suddenly she needs a nerf. This bandwagon balancing is so annoying.

Agreed. It sounds like another one of riot's "you know what would look cool and/or be cool to tell people about to get them into league?" ideas that doesn't actually help the situation and even makes it worse in a lot of ways.

I get owned by liss top when I play Darius. I can hardly touch her, and when I do she had tons of ways to escape or survive trades, even if I pull her. She can dash away, freeze me to the ground, or ult me or herself for heals (it's not like I can escape her aoe damage when she does that anyway), and she generally just pokes me to Oblivion and pads a nice farm and kill lead on me. She's also usually tanky enough to survive at least one or more all ins if I get 5 stacks on her when on equal levels. Not saying she's op or that these nerfs are justified, but that she still probably has a home top against some picks.

Perhaps to make this new passive and her nerfs more viable, they could reduce the healing on her ult by about 50% or remove it, and compensate by giving her healing when she hits enemy champions with Q. Say like 10-35 how when hitting enemy champs directly, and 20-70 when hitting through minions with like a small apartment scaling of 5-10% and that could be a per-champ hit heal, so you could potentially double or triple it. Alternatively, the heal could be based on damage health, or percent missing hp or what ever, or it could be procced by first landing q then autoing, I don't know, but the possibilities are endless and you could really get creative. She might be more fun that way as a low-mid range poke then all-in mage with good lane sustain and decent sustain during teamfights.

Might want to read the passive before complaining as it just requires her to be near to enemy. She doesnt have to kill them, as long as they die near her.

Actually what would be neat maybe is adding a new heal mechanics like that, removing heal from her R, and instead incentivise her to R herself not just to add survivability, but she could get and AP or base damage buff for X seconds. Of course any of this stuff could break her without proper tuning, but I feel like it would be super fun to play her like that, effectively giving her better sustain throughout a fight and making her stronger after duking it out for a little bit.

yeah I love playing here and these changes seem lame.

riot doesnt want liss to be a burst mage they want her to be a teamfight mage with some dps through q spam and cc. it was years ago they said this and their changes have been pretty consistent to shift her in that direction

Can't play her mid, as she will be either out ranged or out burst by most if not all pics. He poke game is weak, and her all in burst has gotten nerfed. So what do? Use the passive? Well I have to kill someone to do that so this isn't helping any in laning phase.

Yes you can play her mid. She is extremely good against assassins (they most often champs in mid). Yes she wont kill them but she doesnt have to. She scales to late better than assassins.

Against mages well again she doesnt need to kill them because she has way more cc. She has by far the best cc as mage.

Although i admit i am a bit worried about her passive. Extremely high base damage yet she needs a kill in order to get it. It will turn out difficult to balance.
