The Vibrant World of Runeterra
Been while since I have posted, I will try to keep this brief.
The world of Runeterra, related to us in stories and champion backgrounds is on of the most vibrant out there in any game. Which make League of Legends that much more engaging to play as the world feels interesting and vast. Alas, very little is actually seen in game and that seems like a giant oversight.
The Bilgewater event was my favorite this year, the story was fun and interesting, but most of all the players got to see a little bit more of the world their favorite characters exist in, even if only for a short while. I had to say I was quite sad to see the map go, not because I didn't like the murder bridge that ARAM is usually played on, but because I felts like we were losing a part of Runeterra we finally got to see. It would have been wonderful if this map skin could have stayed and it be random whether your ARAM would take place on the Freljord themed Howling Abyss or Butcher's Bridge of Bilgewater. It also seems like waisted resources to create a vibrant and new map just to toss it into the vaults never to see the light of day ever again, but those are Riots resources to waist I suppose. In any case, let's continue.
I sincerely hope that this is not the only look into the other regions of Runeterra we will have, and I hope others will be much more permanent that this landscape that we lost way too soon. It would be wonderful to fight in the ancient mountains of Ionia, or the rocky Mogron Pass, or the sweeping sands of Shurima. Seriously this world is so vast that it is a travesty that we only see so little.
So I ask that we may see more of the lands of Runeterra in 2016 and beyond and that they become part of this ever-growing game.
