Vlad is a very simple champion all you do is q stuff if you get behind that's alright buy something for spell thief and BAM OP!

I won't deny that Vlad is strong right now, he is, but he's not OP.

He's very weak before level 6, so if you pick a strong early game top laner you can kill him or force him out of lane. You do this by forcing an all-in situation. Vlad excels at poking and regenerating it back, but in a hard engage he actually doesn't really have much at his disposal.

Riven, Tryn, Rengar and Fiora are great examples of champions that can stomp him in the early game. Other examples include Wukong, J4, Cassiopeia and even Kennen.

Basically anyone who can close the gap and lay down good damage on him, or else outtrade him from range (Cassio or Kennen) have the early game advantage.

The point is by the time Vlad reaches 6, a stronger champ can be level 8,9, or 10 and continue to snowball over Vlad, winning the lane.

Well what if your not that strong champ? You cant do anything about him ask for a gank oh nvm he will just pool out, unless you can make him waste pool first.

To be honest, very few meta top-lane picks have any difficulty dealing with Vlad. The only ones I can think of is Sion, Malphite, and maybe Gnar. And at least for Sion and Malph, your ganks are way stronger than Vlad, so once Vlad starts getting strong you can just roam bot and kill shit while Vlad does jack all to respond (he'll die if he teleports into a team fight without tank items). Gnar can do the same, sorta, but tbh the best course of action for Gnar is to just pick up life steal and push lane while farming and sustaining off of the wave.

Sure, any champ can make it to level 6. Can they make it to level 6 without dying or sacrificing a lot of vital CS? No. Also, it's worth noting that Vlad isn't even that strong at level 6. He just moves from weak to average at level 6. He only starts to shine after level 8 or 9, and only if he didn't lose lane.

If you can't win lane vs a Vlad before level 7-9, you either picked a really weak early game champ, or you're playing really badly. Judging by your rank, I'm going to say it's probably the latter.

It's not always that black and white though. If you get a really good vlad it's possible they can play versus their counters as well.

Yes, your point being? I mean, if he can outplay a counter, frankly, he deserves to win. We're basing this argument over the assumption of equal skill here, and in equal skill scenarios a Vlad won't win lane against most meta top laners unless they make some pretty big mistakes (e.g. dying to a Vlad ulti all-in).

I agree with all champions you mentioned, except for Kennen. Good Vlad player will win against Kennen, as he also doesn't have very strong early. Kennen's Q is blocked by minions, which means he has one less skill to harass Vlad. At the same time, Vlad has his Q and E, autotargeted spells from which Kennen won't hide. Also, Kennen has to weak all-in to get Vlad after he pools away.

It's not difficult to land Q around minions. Just like any other minion-blocked skillshot, you can dance around the minions and find angles from which the enemy has to choose between last hitting or getting hit by Q. Alternatively, Kennen can easily just max W and autoattack harass a Vlad.

Also, Kennen has to weak all-in to get Vlad after he pools away.

Completely wrong. Once you land a Q and a passive W autoattack, you can stun and rush in with your E. Even if he pools you can continue to attack him after his pool until he reaches tower. Unless he has a decently sized minion wave on his side to protect him, a Vlad won't outdamage a Kennen who does this.

It's worth noting that forcing a Vlad to pool is a victory even if you don't continue to all-in him. it costs 20% of his HP, and it leaves him vulnerable to ganks for the next 23-25 seconds depending on his CDR. If he tries to approach the wave before his pool is up again, just all-in him again. Kennen's cooldowns are short.

Vlad is like Nasus, if you shut him down early hes pretty garbage for a long time. If you don't shut him down and let it get to 40 minutes then he solos the entire team.
