No Downvote pls It Is Only a Suggestion

The 10 ban system has been out for quite a while now, and I must say it's a little better than before, because now everyone just bans who they have a poor matchup in (or Draven Zac Yasuo because meh)

The thing I don't appreciate about it, is that it feels like a freebie to people who don't want to learn a matchup, and ban them because they lost to them a game before

That's why to have a little suggestion to make, hear me out because it may or may not be a little confusing.... or a lot idk

So what I propose is simple, but im gonna explain as much as I can

When you get into champ select, it's the regular normal hover over your champ, so that your team knows that bot is going to feed with GP adc followed by Nunu support. The normal 15-20 seconds should be enough time for this.

Then, once that timer ends, a new timer with a total of 40 seconds appears for both sides, but here's the catch. One side can't ban, but the other side can. You're probably wondering why I would say that. It would basically be like 6 bans right? Wrong, incorrect. Everyone can still ban on that side, so the 10 ban system stays.

Once that side bans the selected champs, or run out of time, it's time for the second team to ban. But it comes with a catch. They can't see what team 1 had banned, completely hidden. Team 2 is able to ban whoever they want. However, if team 2 were to ban a champ that team 1 banned, it would unban that champ, and it is free to be selected. It seems a little unfair, but think about the fact that there are champs that are unplayable because they're always banned.

Once team 2 finishes their ban turn. All champs banned on both teams show up. Like o said before, of there are duplicate bans, that selected champ is unbanned and playable for the game.

Why would this affect games? It would make ban phase a LOT more important, because you have to think what the enemy might NOT be thinking. It's a mindgame for both sides. Will someone from team 2 counter ban my 0% wr Yasuo? Or did Team 1 ban Draven, and I shouldn't take the chance of banning him? But at the same time he could not be banned.

If I understood your suggestion correctly, it would allow a situation in which a champ is banned by both sides and thus actually not banned at all. That doesn't sound too wise to me.

Consider a situation in which some champion is not just overpowered but stupidly overpowered and nobody wants to see that champion in match. That champion must stay out of the match until Riot fixes it; your suggestion would ensure that he would be in every match. Also, I don't see why a champion hated by both sides should ever been allowed into the match anyways. People should be able to play more than one or two champions just in case their favorites are banned away.

As a side note: since neither side is able to see what the other side is banning, why is it necessary to have the sides ban at separate phases? The same system could be used even if they banned at the same time.

I don't ban the champs I do because I don't understand the matchup. I ban them because

A. They're cancer or B. They broken

You have flaws in design.

Why does one team have to ban first at all? We can still ban at the sametime, your solution just wants to promote more discussion?? It has been brought up before. I don't mind it too much, but your reasons are wrong. I will ban a broken/annoying champ if I can. There isn't ANY mindgame in new 10ban because we don't see picks, we don't even see our teams picks most of the time, we don't see the ban progression. There is no planning, it is literally ban someone you don't want to see played.

And your goal is to get a champ to see play. But how bad/stupid do you have to feel. To say BAN your OWN Yasuo then see they didn't ban it. I mean it isn't a great solution either way. And you have no way to know if you should ban yasuo to "unlock" him or not. This really only helps new/reworked champs get a slight boost in play... maybe.
