I love all these idiots saying she isn't in a bad spot. She is in a horrible spot and riot admits it. They are buffing/reworking her in the assassin update

try all and see that her W at the first level deal less damage than a base attack [zombie-brand-mindblown]

but after getting item 3285 u haven't farm problem

Her gag is literally jump on a target and delete them with a QEWR combo for the majority of the time. As some others said, she's got a much better spot atm then a number of other assassins(whether its a overpowered kit or a kit that is not as viable in standard setups but might only work in certain setups, especially other champions who are just as old.

-Yorick can be op with his constant swarm of ghouls, but because he basically only does that, auto poking as a tank and using mc'guffin 10 second saves on a ally or himself to give him that middle finger moment just like how Kog'ma, Sion, Zilean, Ekko, Tyrndamere, Anivia or Aatrox do the same with their own abilities when they were killed, should of been killed or pressed the Ultimate at the right time to let them ignore death in a sense.

-Tristana is stuck in bad niche land where her kit could be viable, if there wasn't so many other champions including other marksmen with more powerful gimmicks or ridiculous CC potential to utterly wreck you in moment's notice. Plus not like Trist's W slow on impact point and her knock back with R amounts to much due to lack of it being extremely useful in team fights and her E can follow the same pattern of escape like with Zilean's Q, except you can't double stack it to stun them and the damage scaling can't be as significantly strong.

We also have plenty of champions who basically got no real 'critical changes' or been ignored the entire time and either flourished or continued to be monsters in destroying enemies due to meta (Like Zac being a stacking HP'ernaut who can sling shot into a fight at a moment's notice) or just kits that didn't make them show up that often before but then became devastators once they were known (Kennen is the one i would point at this point, though he did get a 'update' with the Mage update somewhat if i recall, but it still lead to him becoming a champion who can utterly mess up enemy champion or a group of them thanks to his 3 stack stun passive that can be repeated even at a lower duration).

I will at least agree that Katarina could use some quality of life fix ups to get tidy her up, just like Blitzcrank needs it also if the concept of champions with a bunch of passives and abilities mixed together is going to become a absolute that will continue to happen where every champion should likely have 1 extra passive thru their QWE or R abilities on top of their own regular passive.

For me, i'd rather champions not be overloaded with utility and actually have a kit that works with its style and isn't something where a champion can do a bunch of things and dominate everything with little to no counter build (cough Yasuo cough) at all.

Her counterplay to her un-fun to play against lategame is pushing her shit in early, she is in need of no buffs that would stop that.

Except Katarina has highest mid lane winrate in the first 25 minute at 60%, and falls over after that. Katarina's counterplay is Hard CC or invulnerability. 8 out of the past 10 released champions have such things. and 98 champions out 123 have them. It is actually not very hard to do.

Katarina also has low base damages, lowest health than every single melee champion by 50, and lower than half of the mages out there, one of the lowest health increase per level, 5th lowest health regen, and amongst the lowest health regen increase per level, low ratios, and not enough flat pen items. She needs to snowball to deal any damage, and yet is countered by just about every mid laner other than Veigar.
