But these days are gone because ADC items (and Ardent!) are so OP right now that you dont need any armour pen even if the enemy has 2 tanks stacking armour. Often ADCs dont even bother building any armour pen and still shred anyone, at best they will get ArPen as 4/5th item.

Its time to scale down ADC item efficiency and strength. Make ADCs choose between dealing more dmg to squishies (and go raw damage) or shred tanks (and go ArPen).

Its no surprise that the team with better ADCs almost always wins when they can build raw dmg and either 2 shot a squishy or 5-7 shot a full tank.

I wonder if that has to do with an overabundance of %Armor shred from both items and champion kits.

This is one of the dumbest threads I have ever seen.

Tanks buy freaking item 3047 and item 1031 and become literally unkillable.

Old LW used to give 35-40% TOTAL armor pen depending on the patch

New LW gives 35% BONUS armor pen.

It was BEFORE the rework that you didn't have to choose between damage and tank-busting. Now you do.

Its not that adcs are buying last whisper later due to not needing it, its just that last whisper is so fucking gold inefficient that we put it off till we absolutely need it. Otherwise we focus down squishys.

Even if they don't itemize Armor shred, that doesn't change the fact that they're still the best DPS on the team. Yet hyper tanking Armor doesn't help much in a duel if you have no damage yourself. So the only thing that could take the ADC down a notch is an off tank who has enough dueling power to threaten the ADC, and for that, you need at least one good armor item that can work stand alone. (Randuin's might fit the bill, especially since it reduces both AS and crit damage)

Also, the fact that the ADC, can 1-2 shot a squishy, can make tank shred moot. Tank shred isn't a priority if you can kill the enemy glass cannons, and remove the damage threat from the enemy.
