Juggernaut Rework: The Sequel [Part 1 of 4] (Part 1: Yorick)
Howdy all, I think Riot is heading in a good direction with making these juggernaut champions more dynamic and original. Let's look at some more "Juggernauts" and a few ideas I had for improving their feel of play.
Yorick needs more than just a rework, he is very boring to play and very frustrating to play against.
Okay let's remake Yorick!
Passive: Unholy Covenant Unchanged Takes 5% reduced dmg and gains 5% increased dmg for each ghoul. max 20% Ghouls have 35% of Yoricks hp and dmg.
**Note: **No reason to change Yorick's passive. It is a bit of forced synergy but I want his feel of a necromancer to remain intact. So you want to be summoning some Ghouls!
Old Q: Omen of War ACTIVE: Yorick's next basic attack within 10 seconds deals bonus physical damage. Omen of War resets Yorick's autoattack timer. Omen of War summons a spectral ghoul with bonus attack damage and movement speed, which also grants Yorick its bonus movement speed while active.
**Note: **Okay so we are going to remake this pretty much completely. I want to keep the "four horsemen of the apocalypse" theme. So each skill will have the same basic name and theme. I want it to feel like he is "going to war" when this is activated. An old idea for a champion I would have always loved to see that took form somewhat in the new item Dead Man's Plate. But we're just gonna make it so that makes Yorick even better.
**New Q: Path of War ** ACTIVE: Yorick gains increased movespeed per second to a cap until he attacks an enemy. Lasts 6 seconds. Path of War resets Yorick's autoattack timer, deals extra damage and stuns enemy units based upon how many stacks of bonus movespeed. Path of War summons a Ghoul.
Note: Yorick now feels like he is charging at enemies rather than trying to reach them and gain a movespeed buff he doesnt really need now that he's gotten in their face. And you just got hit with a shovel! Stun seems fitting. Also note that all Ghouls summoned by any spell are all the same. They begin attacking the unit they were intially cast upon and can be controlled to move and attack by using Alt, ( like Tibbers or Shaco Clone but with more units. )
**Old W: Omen of Pestilence ** ACTIVE: Yorick deals magic damage to the target enemy and all enemies around them, slowing them for 1.5 seconds. Omen of Pestilence summons a decaying ghoul that continuously applies half of Omen of Pestilence's slow to all enemies around it.
New W: Plague of Pestilence ACTIVE: Deals initial AoE dmg around Yorick along with a poison DoT and slows enemies. Summons a Ghoul if an enemy is hit. Attacking poisoned enemies reduces cooldown by 1 second.
Notes: I don't feel Yorick should be a ranged mage casting ghouls on top of enemies at a distance. Also he shouldn't be able to summon several free ghouls before engaging. I want the fight to bring him strength. So now it blasts damage and slow around himself, hitting an enemy summons a Ghoul. The Ghoul attacks nearest enemy hit, priotitizes champions. Pestilence now deals damage over time for a few seconds. Giving it that plague feel.
Old E: Omen of Famine ACTIVE: Yorick deals magic damage to the target enemy and heals himself for 40% of the damage done. Omen of Famine summons a ravenous ghoul that heals Yorick for 17.5% AD on each of its basic attacks, doubled to 35% AD against enemy champions.
Note: This just feels like a vladimir drain. Except something keeps lingering around attacking you. Let's make it skillbased.
New E: Wrath of Famine Passive: Dealing spell damage marks targets with Face of Famine, Yorick's spells consume the mark, healing him. Same target cannot be marked again for several seconds. Healing is increased vs enemy champions. ACTIVE: Throws out a Ghoul in target direction, if it hits an enemy it saps life from them. Summons Ghoul which attacks enemy hit.
**Note: **Now it isn't just free poke but he still has that unstoppable feeling in lane, able to mark an entire minion wave with his W and consume the mark from each of them! But now he has to actually make it hit something before he can just trade for free.
Old R: Omen of Death ACTIVE: Yorick conjures a controllable revenant of the target allied champion or himself with a portion of his target's health and attack damage at the time of cast, which lasts up to 10 seconds. If Omen of Death's target dies while the revenant is active, it sacrifices itself to reanimate them for 10 seconds at its location, healing them to full health.
Note: Yorick is the GRAVEDIGGER. He isn't about bringing people back to life. He's about putting them under.
New R: Harbinger of Death ACTIVE: Yorick gains Harbinger of Death for 15 seconds. Can be recast to consume Ghouls. Increased movespeed based upon level of Q. Deals AoE damage and poison DoT based upon level of W. Yorick's auto attacks now apply Face of Famine along with his spells based upon level of E. RECAST: Yorick's ghouls explode at their location, dealing damage and healing Yorick for a portion of his hp for each ghoul consumed this way.
Note: This will be a very clutch skill still. Able to heal based upon how many ghouls you had out and dealing damage to whoever is near one at the time.
Here is the reworked skillset.
Remember. All Ghouls are identical now and can be controlled to move and attack by using** Alt **like Tibbers or Shaco Clone.

Note: Imagine throwing a Wrath of Famine Ghoul at an enemy at a distance as you summon another on a nearby enemy with a Plague of Pestilence Ghoul and you run at another to deliver a crushing blow from Path of War delivering another ghoul onto yet another enemy. and then recasting your ult to make them each explode at once for the triple! Yorick seems pretty awesome all of a sudden.
