Quick guide to Tanky Ahri Top (not a troll pick!)

Does it work? Of course. Ahri is naturally amazing at kiting, has high base damages, good waveclear, hard cc and mobility. All that is pretty good for top lane. She has a very easy time farming against the typical bruiser/tank because they simply can't get to her, and you can just poke them down with Q and autoattacks. Basically she's a lane bully that scales rather well (like old Azir). http://i.imgur.com/o9gwCrp.png All the games I've played after coming up with this build. Rocking that 100% winrate :^)

Isn't Ahri mid better? Well yes... but Ahri top is far from bad. In fact, I'd say Ahri and Lissandra are the best AP top laners right now (rip Rumble). Going top can also trick your opponents into counterpicking Ahri for mid, who then can get counter-counterpicked by your mid.

What's the strategy? Farm up in the early game, get your core items and then either roam/teamfight or stay top splitpushing. Ahri is a good splitpusher due to good waveclear and 1v1 potential. And if you can't 1v1 someone, you can just run away with 3 dashes.

Core stuff

always. most of the time. vs counters. is ok if your team has a lot of map presence (Shen/TF/etc.) -> always. always. RoA is op right now. Rush it. Makes you so hard to kill, fixes mana problems, gives tons of ap and has a godly regen passive for laning, which together with Ahri's passive means you can farm for a really long amount of time. Shouldn't be hard at all to get catalyst on your first back. Boots give ability and summoner spell cdr. You want cdr. Dcap and void are core for any AP champs that wants to do damage.

2nd item

Depending on the enemy team comp, pick one. If things are going well, abyssal will give you the most possible damage. Rylais kites the enemy top laner even harder. Sucks when you have to build zhonyas but usually you won't need it. Lich bane if you're snowballing hard, cdr and pushing power.

More options

Morello vs Swain/Vlad/etc. Would not get both morello+roa. Ludens kinda sucks here but I guess it's ok if the enemy top is squishy. Liandry for those epic 4 tanks + adc comps. Mejais if you're a boss. Gauntlet is for cdr and armor, good if the enemy team has way too much AD.

Runes Personally I run 20% scaling cdr. With lich bane + cdr boots, or just with morello, I get max cdr.

Counters

They're either too hard to kite, too hard to kill, or both. All of them melt you in a 1v1 even with this tanky build. But Malph and Fiora are permabanned anyway. Good.
