Changing punishments for people leaving and making a new way to use the summoner who left

I have come to the conclusion after a month of season 10 being out that it is the season of mentality. Whoever's team has the person that has a mental breakdown first more often than not will lose. there are obviously exceptions but most people after dying once or twice in lane call out "gg go next" and go afk or just flat out leave. There is no counter play to someone leaving the game and no one can do anything about it. Obviously DC'ing is different but most likely Riot knows when people leave vs when they disconnect.

Most of the people that play league primarily play ranked, such as myself, and when this happens in ranked it just sucks. It doesn't make anyone want to play anymore and it happens so often that its just pathetic. Changing how people are penalized needs to happen this season. More specifically sooner rather than later.

From what I know about leaving games is that the first one is always a freebie or something along that line where you don't punished. Obviously the more you do it the worse the penalty is. However that doesn't stop people from constantly doing it. If people are doing it in a "competitive" game mode they shouldn't be allowed to play in that game mode right away after doing it once. When people try something for the first time and it doesn't effect them, they keep doing it. When people steal and don't get caught whats to stop them from doing it a 2nd time? Or a 3rd? It goes on and on. People will continue to do it if the punishment is this trash. Putting someone in low priority queue is an alright punishment, but make it so that have to win the game to get out of it.

Dota 2 has their own punishment system where if someone abandons a game, and 5 mins pass since they DC they get an abandon punishment which is 10 games of low priority queue. The only way to get out of it, is to win 10 games of ranked (only if it occurred in ranked play). This would help the game so much since it would make people want to win to get out of low priority. Sure you could set it for normals or ranked, maybe even ARAM, but the point stands that this would make them try harder to get out of their punishment. Obviously I don't think you should copy exactly what Dota has but its just an idea.

When someone leaves the game they still passively collect gold. If someone quits that gold should be shared to everyone instead of the afk person. That way it makes it a bit easier to win 4v5 games. Sure its still hard to win it, but it definitely would make it easier. Another idea could be to sell any items they have and give gold to their team too. (This is another thing that dota has but its still just an idea of some sorts). Im not saying the game should be more like dota. I just think there should be some kind of way to make it easier to win with someone gone from the game. Maybe make a bot start playing for the person that dc'd and the bot only comes on when they have disconnected from the game due to internet issues or lag. If someone leaves the game themselves they maybe share the gold. Find a way to make it unique to league of legends. League has remakes but dota has abandons.

If someone in Dota leaves the game for more then 5 mins, it allows everyone else to leave the game and it still counts as a loss. It is different in ranked matches than normal matches but here is information from the wiki itself: "Abandonment is treated "more severely" in ranked matches. Any player who abandons in ranked matches will receive a Loss, regardless of the outcome of the match." This is how it should be in league. People should be allowed to freely leave the game and play other games if a person is gone for a certain amount of time. Whichever team has the leaver will receive a loss but at least it allows them to move on from the game sooner instead of having to "open mid" or surrender at 15. Remakes are technically like this where the person that made the game remake gets punished and everyone else gets nothing. But the people that leave after that make the game a 4v5 if they never return. Again these are just ideas that come off my head and might work the best at first but through time it could get better and make the game easier.

In the end, League of Legends isn't a perfect game and it is constantly changing, but prioritizing on how the game is supposed to be played over champion balance is more of a priority in my opinion. Working on fixing how peoples experiences go in every league of legends match should always be fair. I should not be scared of someone wanting to leave the game every time I get into a ranked game. That does not make a game healthy. No one has to read this, and no one has to listen but i'm just putting this out there for everyone to see. Thank you for your time and reading it.
