Lee Sin nerfs

Calypsó··3 votes·1,607 views

Thoughts? As a Lee Sin main, I'm a little upset BUT understanding of the nerf. As everyone knows (Assuming you're a regular), Lee Sin is a very early to semi-mid game champion. His potential to snowball other champions or himself is great. The thing is for Lee Sin...no matter what you really do, you're going to fall off late game no matter what. I think the nerf was a little too harsh; I also think the E nerf was ridiculous. 2 of Lee Sin skills (Now only one :c) reveal invisible units such as: Teemo Vayne Twitch Khazix. This is just an opinion and I would love to hear some feed back!

P.S. Yes, I do know Lee Sin damage was pretty stupid with thunderlords. Auto + Kick + Q = Death to pretty much any squishy. Not much counter play but still... -Calypso

Lee does not fall off. His damage does, but he as a champion has enough utility left in his kit to make good use of himself after that point. The true vision, the AoE slow, the mobility, and that kick all ensure that Lee always has a place in the game at all points in a match.

If you want a champion that really does fall off, you talk to this man here: Pantheon Past a certain point in the game he literally is a stun bot. That is what falling off is. Lee simply changes roles from assassin/diver to bodyguard as the game goes on.

Very valid point! Except...many Lee Sins try to go for the back line rather than being a peel/bodyguard for your carries. At least in my elo he does. Pantheon is known to be an extremely strong early game champion. Arguably the top 3 best early champions. Yes, he falls off very hard, but he does extreme amounts of damage to squishes. The true vision, the AoE Slow, the mobility...Yes it makes Lee Sin somewhat viable in the late game, but he still has a large skill cap. He still needs to land his Q and know when to go in or not. Thanks for the feedback though. Much appreciated <3 -Calypso

Hello, experienced Pantheon msin, playing him lots since end season 3 and have a only Panth smurf where i play him in every way every role. Panth falling off as hard as people say is just a myth, if you position yourself correctly and manage to land a full E not only you will melt their lifes since it deals more than 1K aoe, but also it shreds full stacks of BC with only one E. And maxed with 40% it has a 2 sec cd! Its not that Panth falls off hard, his role swaps from "I go in and smack your face" to "I must be smart and position here so I can land a full E or 2 and gg". Before Rito nerfed his E it was hillarious to play Panth late game.

E Nerf was more than logical. Generalist champion like Lee Sin doesn't deserve to also be the ultimate stealth counter. Attempting to ever balance stealth when hard counterpick for it permanently has crazy pick rate would be bound to fail.

Except guess what happens when you nerf the generalist parts of the generalist champions. Expect to see huge Lee buffs on top of nerfs to the champs he countered. Removing a utility is much bigger than removing 150 damage. Removing the ability to reliably counter Vayne and more hits really hard and expect to see his numbers buffed in return.

And yet Vayne has one of the highest pickrate right now. :/ Vayne stealth can't be revealed as much now. -Calypso

I also feel the pain, as Lee is my secondary go-to... The problem is that the community is straight up getting better at this champ, meaning "skill cap" isn't something you can just have and not pay for. People are getting better and better at reducing counterplay through Lee's kit and combos. His power needed to come down to compensate

Are you saying Riot is trying to improvise for more counterplay? If so, I don't think the reworked Rengar provides much counterplay. :/ The rework on LeBlanc is justified for me, because it does provide counterplay. She can't just insta burst you unlike Rengar. Rengar's ultimate provides you with a gurantee crit and with IE + Thunderlords...you almost die instantly. D: Anyways, I can see where you're coming from. Thanks for the feedback! Thanks for being the only person so far that is griping in a positive way since update live/pbe. I'm about to blow a gasket with all these Darius mains creeping out of the woodwork right now.

Yeah, no problem! I like to value other opinions and reflect upon it. ^_^ [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] -Calypso

This got me im dying of laughter now. No idea why it wasn't even funny but its just so true XD

Reworked Rengar only doesn't need the crit, if necessary buff other abilities to compensate

Reworked LB is still nonsense, it just happens .75 seconds later

Wow he totally falls off late game, he cant 1 shot everyone in the game any more, he can now only 1 shot squishies item 3070 LeeSin item 3070 pls give him even higher base movement speed and reduce his energy costs for compensation, oh wait they are already 0 sorry, well give him another dash then ...

I honestly am upset about the E vision nerf.

Rito...Plz dont buff lee sin's W (to give him more spell vamp and life steal) because you say he is falling behind in the jung. Then, he ends up being "the top jung" (which i do not believe) and you turn around and nerf his ult. Just revert the last buff and leave him alone. Also he can't reveal a teemo, but a teemo can blind a blind man? Stupid.

Really? I find clearing with Lee Sin fairly easy. Blue ~ Gromp~ Wolves ~ Red. I still have a good 3/4 hp with 2 pots still. Tfw when Teeto blinding darts can make a blind person even more blind. Teemo item 3070 -Calypso

I have never though that his clear was not easy. Riot buffed his W to give him more sustain in the jungle. I imagine because attack speed jungles are so strong right now and over time their clears where much faster. Then they buff his Ult. Before the buff on his W, he was not that much of concern in LOL. His win rate was a good bit below 50%. Mainly because of his skill cap. He is a fighter/assassin. He should be able to blow up a squishy with a QRQ and maybe an E auto. I find several times after QRQ an adc that is clearly not as fed as me skimps away and I have to summoner 4 / item 3711 hop to get the kill. Either 3 things happen. (1) you pull it off, get the kill that took a ton of skill and have no energy to escape which =death. (2) you chase get hit by hard cc and die. Or (3) they get away. He is still viable no doubt. And still a strong pick. Maybe give him some more energy or something or just leave one of the oldest champs in league alone. My opinion just revert the last buff. Change his ult back to the way it was. His ult should be able to kill something with a little 2 bars of health. It often doesn't now (early game). BS

Khazix, reneger, talon. All of the assassins got buffs except Lee Sin. Bogus to me.

As much as I agree with you, I still see some flaws.

  1. Lee Sin is a VERY mobile champion. His Q allows him to weave through the jungle very easily. Lee Sin's W also makes him very hard to catch. item 1408 is usually used for ward hopping and not warding in general.
  2. The nerf on Lee Sin's ult is understandable. I felt bad for squishy targets because all I needed to do was auto + ult + Q+Q. I didn't even need to really build damage. My jungle item + Black Cleaver will usually finish the job.
  3. Lee Sin's energy. His passive restores energy after he uses a skill. Giving him more or less energy doesn't really make sense. xD.
  4. I don't think Riot wanted to make Lee Sin as an assassin. Just like how Ekko wasn't really supposed to be a bruiser/tank top.

TL;DR Nerfing Lee Sin is I guess..."Okay" for me. P.S Thanks for the feedback! -Calypso
