Rek'Sai 175 attack range for no apparent reason?

Rek'Sai is obviously pretty strong right now.

Outside of all the obvious reasons, such as high damage, mobility, sustain etc, she also has an impressive 175 attack range, something otherwise reserved for champions with spears, staves, etc.

I mean, why should she get 50 additional range over other similar melee champions, when she isn't thematically nor balance-wise fit for it? It feels like an unnecessary power just thrown in there for the lols.

You have to consider Rek'sai's model size. Its significantly larger than other models and therefore requires an increased attack range to compensate. Attack range is based from the CENTER of the model, not the edge.

Why shouldn't she get 50 additional range over "other similar melee champions." Who exactly is similar to Rek'Sai anyway? Just because she is strong doesn't mean she needs a nerf, she has clear oppurtunities for counterplay as her mobility is actually pretty limited and predictable.
