Playing Non-meta in blind-pick norms
So my friend and I like to try out new things that generally don't adhere to the meta. Usually in the champ select it will be clear that we are not playing the meta because our role and champion will be known. This works out sometimes and other times one of us can have a bad game - which can happen even if we are playing in the meta. I think that blind pick norms are the best mode to do this in because draft is usually more competitive and obviously it would be wrong to do so in solo queue ranked.
Lately, a lot of people get extremely upset at us and report us and try to /ff because they don't understand that not playing meta can work. However, this never happens in games where I'm doing well. It only happens in games where the team is doing poorly and that is rarely due to me playing against the meta, its just a bad game.
I'm sometimes worried because I do get reported, but I feel like i'm way less toxic to the game than those who get extremely upset and constantly bicker and cuss at me, and give up. I never give up a game because I've had tons of crazy comebacks and I think learning how to comeback makes you a better player.
Basically, I want to hear people opinions on playing non-meta or playing with someone non meta in blind pick games. Should it be a reportable offense? Does it warrant people to flame you the whole game? Are there any people who enjoy playing non meta norms that wanna add me?
