Just watched a game with triforce vayne (that rhyme tho XD), first time I ever see it. Just wondering if the guy was trolling or if there is actually situations where that item wouldn't be suboptimal for her. It was an skt Marin game so Def high elo

So basically when I think about when to build triforce on an ADC I ask myself a few questions.

  1. Does my champion cast a lot of spells AND auto attack a lot? Obvi Vayne hits this category. She's Q'ing basically on CD in a teamfight and in lane it's great for setting up an Auto->Q->Auto combo or just a Q->Auto.

  2. Does my champion benefit from all the stats? This one is where I have hard time with Vayne. She doesn't need mana and she has 0 AP ratios. This is 835 gold that is completely inefficient. However, she benefits enormously with every other component (and just thinking about it, the phage synergy with her passive is pretty cool, ain't no one getting away from you.) There would probably be almost no reason NOT to build triforce if it wasn't slot inefficient for Vayne. That being said, She just benefits SO much from attack speed and on hit stuff because of the strength of W, that the 2 Sheen components interrupt her build path pretty terribly. IMO.

Even if the answer to #2 doesn't seal the deal for you, Vayne has a very expensive build path. You're typically going first item BORK which is pretty expensive, you then like to go for PD or SS or IE depending on your opponents/state of the game. Throwing yet another extremely expensive item like Triforce would probably disrupt her already fairly expensive build path.

That all being said, I wouldn't flame my teammate for building it on her or call it trash if I saw it in a pro game. I just wonder if the benefits of the item outweigh the cost.

I played trinity force vayne in normals, its pretty fun with her tumble but its not the optimal build probably

It's kind of like having black cleaver, but instead of armor reduction (not super great on Vayne), you get crit, AS, health, AD, rage that synergizes with her passive and an aa steroid after every cast just like her Q already does. It's not super great, but I can see why it would work.

Love how people react to someone trying some stuff and have even just a little reward from it. We are metasheeps at all I guess :( I play Riven without boots as example (replaced by BC), it works in most cases, and the flames getting quieter and quieter. I like playing Darius with Triforce + Frostmallet as well... That's why I love koreans, they try alot of stuff, we copy cat them and wonder, why they do so much better sometimes...

I play her with trinity since release. She has a good base ad for an adc, and with some cdr her Q goes down to 1.5 sec, so you can abuse the spellblade proc perfectly well. She is meant to kite and chase, and the mobillity from trinity really adds up here, it is nearly impossible to run from her and most melees have no chance to ever reach her(sounds like kallista...)

and whie she has not much manaproblems, mana still isn't wasted on her so only the 30 ap are wasted, but those mostly are wasted on many trinity users.

Compared to the usualy botrk+PD, you lack in dps vs tanks, but your increased mobillity and higher burst allows to flank and take out squishys, and you can comensate the lower dps by improved kiteing. I find it to be more effecktive than the usuall built if i don't have alot peeling for me in teamfights or plan on splitpushing.

triforce spellblade would proc on her skills and also the movement speed passive is really helpful for kiting and chasing. Although i dont think vayne has any ap scaling abilities but the two aforementioned reasons are why people would build it on her.

you can basically build whatever you want. there was a pro game where jinx went triforce + rageblade and reckt.

guess every build has its pros and cons

I read somewhere that the time she loses on tumble-AA means that it costs her damage later on to Q-AA instead of AA as much as possible. Now she'll always get a few Qs in every fight but mostly that's to reposition once teamfighting begins.

The only thing I can think of is they were either trying something out or something going on the the meta over there needs vayne to get it.
