Why is reporting a one-way street?

Why is it that I can get reported for bitching at someone when they feed, but there is no recourse for me to report them for being bad? Reporting for unskilled does NOTHING. It literally does not do anything. I feel as if Riot has created an environment of pseudo-all-inclusiveness, but in reality they're making it so that they players who actually TRY to be good and TRY to help their team win in ranked have no defense against the people who pick champions they hardly know and feed consistently. I just don't think it's fair that someone could literally go in a game and go 1/9 because they're "having a bad game" and then report the rest of the team for being mad about it. I think most of the reason I get so frustrated with this game is that I feel anyone can get away with any level of being bad in ranked, but if I even get annoyed about it, they're somehow justified in reporting me for it, which makes me out to be some sort of villain. P.S.: This only counts for ranked. Do whatever you want in normals, so long as you're not intentionally feeding or w/e. Normals are truly JUST a game. There are no repercussions for losing in normals. P.P.S.: Feel free to move this to a more appropriate board. Wasn't sure which it fits into.

Bitching someone out someone is against the rules. Playing badly is not.

I believe it lowers their mmr just a little bit. But keep in mind that punishments are for those who actually break the rules and be toxic and all that jazz, whereas being shitty at the game is not a punishable offense.

I mean, corrupt politicians can be punished, but shitty ones don't get thrown in prison in the States just for being bad at their job but not breaking any laws.

I'm saying that we should move to make it against the rules in some sense. A shitty politician might lose his job over being a shitty politician, which is what I'm suggesting. Ban them from playing ranked, not the game entirely. Of course, it would have to be someone consistently getting reported for being unskilled and also reviewed by tribunal or something to see if they're consistently picking champions that they've proven to be bad at.

Tbis is not a job. We are not firing anyone. If they lose a lot, they'll lose mmr until they get to a level where they stop losing a lot. That is sufficient. It addresses the problem. Everyone has a place in ranked where they will be matched with people of their n own skill level, but they may need to win or lose a lot to get there. And that is assuming they didn't just have a bad game.

You are perfectly free to get annoyed at someone playing poorly (it is pointless, but you can be annoyed if you want). You are not free to express that however you wish. Just keep it to yourself. You don't have to tell someone you hate their plays.

Actually it just gives rito a heads up about how they screwed up matchmaking.

I guess you could draw a connection to that :D

Since this is an ad hominem, I'm gonna have no shame bout doing the same. People. go give a look to this man's threads before you draw any conclusion about what he just said.

It's just some joking around. And good to see that someone else is promoting my threads! It only further imburses that I am smart.

In case you're wondering what's got me irritated in this particular instance, I was in a ranked match with a Vladimir and a Warwick and vlad had a .5/7 k/d and ww had like 1/4 or something and vlad had over 10 games this season on vlad. Picking that champion should border on reportable at that point. It's like trolling. You're picking a champion you know you're trash on in a game that people actually want to win. That's essentially trolling or at least a complete disregard for your team's welfare.

I'm not entirely sure what it is you are complaining about. It's not too clear. Are you annoyed about players who just report half their team every single game, or that players who do badly are likely to get extremely mad in the chat? Maybe it's that you get angry at players who don't do well?

I'm complaining about the fact that it's only reportable to get mad or complain, but not to repeatedly do poorly and/or pick champions that you've repeatedly done poorly on. Like, if you go into ranked and pick a champion who you have a <1 KDA on over the course of 10 games, why shouldn't that be reportable? You know you're bad at it and you still pick it. That's no different than outright trolling. Maybe not banned from the game, but banned from ranked, certainly. My point is that if you aren't playing ranked with the mindset that you want to win, you shouldn't be allowed to play ranked. Some people play ranked as if it's just a normal and pick whatever they want and play it wherever they want because it's "just a game" which as absolute BS.

Reporting someone for being bad? That's sounds quite stupid. Hilariously so. It's not "trolling", which is becoming a term that is thrown around by kids way too often. It's not even close. Being toxic in the chat is, however, not something that should be acceptable. Being toxic (or mad) in the chat is actively attacking the player. Playing poorly is something that I know everyone has done, and would result in everyone being reported if they were ever to not have amazing KDA.

On a side note, KDA means nothing in a game. Why do people care about it so much? This isn't Call of Duty. You don't win solely on kills. You win by taking objectives and destroying the opponent's nexus. Also, some positions, such as the Jungler and Support, won't have stellar KD ratios since they're not the ones who are supposed to be getting kills. They would get reported way too often by people who are just really mad and toxic, like you.

You're entirely missing the point. I'm not saying I haven't played poorly or that there's anyone who doesn't play poorly sometimes. I'm saying that if you pick champions that you do not play well and have proven to not play well and keep picking them and doing poorly, that is trolling. You're knowingly handicapping your team by picking a champion that you don't win games on. KDA and KD aren't the same thing, so junglers and supports can maintain as good a KDA as any carry can. Yes, taking objectives is how you win games, but we're not talking about people who are winning games, we're talking about people who are consistently causing losses. One of the best ways to make a game unwinnable is to feed. Kills don't end the game, but giving up a bunch of them can make it damn near impossible to win. To reiterate: this is NOT about being able to report someone who fed in one game or even a number of games consecutively. It's about people who consistently pick champions that they don't ever or rarely do well on. It's more about weeding out the people who play ranked super casually, which I come across a lot. People who pick champions they don't know how to play, pick champions that they feed on regularly, or just have a casual mentality about winning as if they don't really care one way or the other and they're just along for the ride.

Doing badly in previous games isn't really of importance. Those are past games, and this is a new game that you are playing. Don't focus on those previous games. And don't cry in chat "gg troll pick" based on their match history. People need to know how to play a champion before they can start doing really well. They won't start playing them, and instantly be amazing.

To clarify, playing Ranked is about trying hard to get the win. You can win a game regardless of how fed the enemy is. If they're doing poorly, you could try actually helping them out. Actually go out of your way to help them. Don't just complain when they're not doing well. You won't be helping your team when you do something like this. Also, banning someone for no playing well, regardless of how you try to rationalise it, is not a good idea. Trying to rationalise that "their match history shows that they've lost a lot of games on this champion, and they're still sucking" makes it easy to avoid the problem. Why do you think they're doing badly? Are they too aggressive? Do they get counter-picked? Are they getting ganked too easily? You're not looking at any of these, and instead you are just straight up demanding them to play a champion that you want them to. You want them to be banned for playing a champion you don't want them to play. You shouldn't have the right to control other player's game for your own need.

Because if the one way street remains in a traffic system of holding, it must remain a one way street to balance out the whole system. Believe it or not!

EDIT: Although I might add that you might not be properly certified to "bitch" at someone for feeding, you could genuinely have been the wrong one and FULLY deserving of a report.

Somehow, as I expected, everyone is thinking this is somehow a defense for people who flame and it absolutely isn't. Flaming is extremely discouraging to your team and I'm not going to disagree that it should be reportable(although I think that there should be some differentiation between flaming and complaining). It's addressing what is probably causing some people to get mad. There is absolutely no consequence for picking champions that you suck at and feeding every game. I could go into ranked right now and queue every single game and play champions that I've never played or hardly played before and feed on them(not intentionally) and no one would have any right to report me. How does that make sense? I think that goes against the competitive spirit that league is supposed to awaken inside of people. This is not 6th grade gym class, not everyone should be included and you shouldn't be forced to play with the apathetic kid who doesn't really want to be there.

You're right, it should be a two way street. Every unskilled player report should send a counter report on the person making the report, where they get banned if they were belligerent to their team.

Just think of what you're saying, you want people to be punished for being bad at a video game. Calm your tits, you're not perfect either.
