Closing the Gap: Some ideas for making the game easier to play.

So I was taking Qiyana for a few test drives the other day and noticed a specific and very good mechanic she has. You may have easily missed it, it's hidden in opaque text at the bottoms of the ability description of her e. She has a nice training wheels feature where if you cast q in the middle of e she will auto target whatever you dashed through with e for her q. It's such a nice mechanic and really helps lower the barrier of entry for her, making me wonder if similar things couldn't be done for other champs. And while I was thinking of the specific champions this would affect I noticed other "training wheel" mechanics that could be brought over to other champions.

First off, before I even list the champions, let's talk about why this should even be a universal thing. When you dash to a champion you are, albeit briefly, giving up control of your champion to whoever your targeting. This means there are a large number of factors beyond your control, like where your character will even end up at can be inconsistent, that need to quickly calculated to make sure your follow up attack lands on target. Some people might not understand what I'm talking about, in which case congratulations of you excellent visual acuity and mental calculation speed. Some people might think this isn't usually a problem except in a cluttered visual setting like a 5v5. And some people are I'm sure saying things like just gitgud, or league of babies, or something. But for everyone else I'm sure you know that these sorts of small mechanical aids won't suddenly catapult every bronze to master but at best will work like, well , training wheels. That's because there are situations where you won't want the auto target and so you'll need to adjust. It's just the most common that situation will be more reliable.

I should have mentioned somewhere that this auto target mechanic only works when you buffer/cast/press-the-other-button DURING the dash and as soon as the dash ends everything works as normal. Maybe I'll edit that information in more organically somewhere.

Okay still with me? Here we go.

Champion targeted dash into auto targeted aoe/skillshot (the Qyiana treatment)

Akali: second cast of e (and if the changes go through the first cast of r) into q.

Diana: r into q. (Should probably remove the rqr combo though, that's not specific to this it's just kinda busted imo)

Ekko: second cast? Of e into q. (A really weird case because it's not an ability but an ranged auto attack that moves your character. Also don't even know if there is even any time during which your q could be buffered? Very weird case)

Fizz: q into e. (sort of)

Illaoi: w into q or e. (Similar to the Ekko above, it's not an ability so much as it's a ranged auto where your character moves, but is a much slower animation with plenty of time to buffer the next spell)

Irelia: q into r? (Easily the best example of how this mechanic being globalised won't suddenly make the game super easy. All of her abilities could potentially be used with this mechanic but every case would be sub-optimal. That said, I did have an idea that I will talk about later that would probably be worth it for riot to consider.)

Jarvan IV: R into q or e. (Both would not, and should not, be possible.)

Kled: second cast of e into q. ( If Riot takes nothing else from this tread I think this specific change should definitely happen. The abilities function nearly identical to Qyiana's.)

Maokai: w into anything else.

Nocturne: r into q

Pantheon: w into e

Poppy: e into q

Rengar: leap into q and e. (same questions as Ekko and Illaoi)

Talon: Q into w.

Vi: r into q.

Xin Zhou: e into w

Yasuo: e into q already has a special snowflake Yasuo only interaction.

Zed: r into q. (Probably the scariest character to implement this change on but is somewhat mitigated because of how sub-optimal that skill order would be)

And that's it! Wow that was way more than I was expecting when I was first envisioning this list. Originally I had additional ideas for training wheel style mechanical helpers but this post has honestly gone on way to long at this point so maybe I'll post them later if interest is maintained.

TL;DR: Can Riot make it so if Kled buffers his q during the second cast of e it works like Qyiana's?
