Tahm Kench interaction with Grievous Wounds

Go ahead and throw out the claim, this is not a "omg champion x is op, please nerf" post. I do admit to have a recent gane with one which got me thinking because of abilities and word choice.

Thick Skin is one of TK's abilities which as he takes damages, holds onto the damage as "gray health" which can then be recovered or used as a shield.

Executioners Calling and Morello inflict GW for 3 seconds, the health restore on TK's E kicks in after 2.5 seconds of non combat. That is fine, to me really. Otherwise would have to complain about Garen. (for those curious Bramble/Thornmail inflict GW for 1 sec and Mortal Reminder for 5).

What I want to ask may be on a slippery slope, but again, due to word choice am curious.

Should GW reduce the amount of shield that Tahm Kench from his shield when he converts the Gray Health?

On one hand it is a shield but on the other, it is coming as a result of "gray health".

Gray health is determined based upon damage taken, so no, his shield should not be affected by greivous wounds.

I can understand that. What got me thinking of it was Ekko's ult which is a heal based off missing health. So with TK shield being essentially based off missing health, figured would be a question of curiosity.

Conceptually ekko and tahm's healing are related, but their execution is drastically different. Ekko heals an amount of damage taken within the last 4 seconds, plus a little more. This comes with a teleport and massive damage aoe when he goes back. Worthy of an ultimate ability. However, the wording and execution define the heal, as that is what it is: a heal. Based upon damage taken and (i believe) a 1:1 ratio.

Compare that to tahm, who gains grey health upon taking damage. Grey health itself has no effect, just a way to visualize the size of the shield or the amount of HP that could be gained. Grey health has a 1:1 ratio, as does the shield. The healing on the other had is 1: .35 i think and scales with rank. This is when executioners would have an effect as this is actual healing. The shield replaces grey health and decays, whereas the passive heal consumes the grey health to heal.

Didn't we nerf the poor fish enough already? Leave TahmKench alone!

I'm not saying nerf him. Was just a random thought involving the beloved River King.
