Do I lose Points for Dodge Selection in Ranked?

I had to dodge a ranked game during summoner selection just now.

1st picks morgana for mid, next selects bear for jungles, then I pick fish for support.

After me 4th guy picks blitz. I ask 'are you AP blitz?' he says something like &&D ah screw it ima roll with it. Pretty sure he gonna try AP top with blitz.

Next guy pick Kennen for top.

So we end up with AP blitz @ top with kennen and no AD champion, so I gonna dodge the game...

but I see it says if I dodge a ranked game Im going to lose points. I don't see why I should lose points for not wanting to play that obvious train wreck for 20 minutes.

Do you really lose points for dodging a game that dumb during ranked? Its not like I left during the game, I left before playing the dumb game.

Yes, 3 LP I believe.

And if you dodge promo it is counted as a loss.

You don't have to dodge a game.

You chose to dodge a game because you don't have the "challenge accepted" spirit.

You don't know if your team is going to loose until all's said and done. You could be facing an enemy team with an AFK, troll, key players in a roll they're uncomfortable with, key players on your team that are extremely comfortable on their picks, your off picks could be something your opponents have no idea/practice dealing with, etc.

I've won with a lot of really dumb team comps. Full ADC, jungle Sivir, full bruiser, full support, double assassin bot, 5 man smite, 5 man teleport... Also lost with a lot of 100% meta-approved comps. And the same's true for my firends and streamers I fallow that are actually good at the game.

Reading tea leaves and gazing into a crystal ball is exactly as reliable at telling your chances of victory as the read you get in champ selection over who's going to win.

Yes, you do.

You're wasting the time of 9 other people when you dodge.

You lose 3 LP, but no MMR. This means your next games will see slightly higher LP gains and lower LP losses. Before long you're back on track.

There is no reason NOT to dodge if you suspect less than 50% chance to win. Your LP will look bad but you'll make it back before long.

I dont feel like an all AP team could win against an even moderately intelligent opposing team...

Maybe I'm wrong tho. I didnt want to waste my time with it though.

Had to make another dodge in the selection screen.

I had first pick and I made support, but somebody else later picked a support. I dont know why I lose points for that.

I've played many games in normals with 2 supports and it rarely ever ends with a win. Even if you survive because the other team has a durking jungler, there normally isnt enough damage in the group with 2 supports and 1 tank later in the game. Unless ur specifically planning a 2 support group... but no.. this is just solo queues.

I can't believe I have to lose points and then wait for like 30 minutes to play too.

Am I just supposed to play these games? Seems kind of stupid to me.

Dang I lost 15 points that time. Thats just dumb lol. I refuse to play a game where the players can't muster the strength to even select a proper team.

Why does it punish me?! So I have a choice of either playing some idiotic game and getting slapped in the face by player trolls or leaving the selection screen and getting slapped in the face by game master trolls.

How do I win this situation? Or atleast come out of it without getting my face slapped around
